Venus

"Is Amy and Dom ok? They seem a little distant? From each other." Star asks me while we were in a bar.

The MC met up at the old Clancy's bar. Once a week, we go there and stay in our houses that's left standing on the reserve. The members who didn't have  houses stayed with a member who did. We had contractors building us another clubhouse/bar that would be more dependable against outside forces if this should ever happen again.

I look to where Amy and Jake were, in the far back. They were sitting at the same table but you could see they were far from each other talking to other people and laughing it up. JJ was in Amy's lap looking around while laying on his mom's shoulder looking tired as ever. That little guy has been through a lot but he's one tough little guy. Everyone thought he was dead when the paramedics had to get him from Amy seeing he wasn't responding to anything. Turns out his body just shut down and went into a defensive mechanism. 

"I don't know, Star. I hope they work things out."

"Me too. Amy really hasn't told me anything even after JJ got out of the hospital, I'm worried you know? She can't keep things bottled up, it will destroy her. I should know."

I look down at Star and remember when she was in the hospital because the Vanity Tears roughed her and Amy up and then had to go through that whole ordeal with Damnation kidnapping her. My baby has been through the ringer and still here! She is one tough cookie. I know that if Star can make it through that then Amy can too! But is she strong enough to withstand everything that comes along with the MC? Or is she on her last straw?

"Baby, I just wanted to let you know I'm so proud of you. After everything you've been through I'm just glad you're standing next me."

"Aww Venus, don't go all mushy on me now. Venus, me and you are glue baby I'm sticking to you."  I lean down and smirk at her and she slaps my shoulder laughing. "I know corny, but I love you."

"I know baby girl, I know." I leaned down and kissed her soft plumped lips and felt the warmth once again clash with my cold anterior. Only Star can melt the beast within me.

I knew it was wrong of me to let down my guard in the outskirts of Georgia but seeing Crash look so happy to be even close to his home state made me happy, but ultimately it was the beginning of the downfall it's where everything went to shit.

The Day Of
