I couldn't believe that Dalton had actually heard me singing and I was kind of embarrassed. I didn't really like my voice and I did not like it when others heard me singing. "Yes I heard you and you were great." I rolled my eyes. "Ya right, just because you are Mr. Superstar doesn't mean you can lie to me to get me to feel better." He looked directly in my eyes. "Listen to me Lilly, I know true talent and you have it." Nobody had ever said anything so nice about my voice and his opinion was really important to me. It meant so much to me to head his words of kindness.
"Sorry to break the awkward silence. But I was wondering, was that song that Dalton heard you singing, by Austin Mahone?" I almost forgot Sophie was standing right next to me until she talked. "Ya It was, are you a mahomie (Austin Mahone fan)?" She flashed a big smile and I knew we had found common ground. "Omigosh, yes! His voice is fantastic and he's pretty cute." I laughed at her sudden excitement. I felt like I was 12 again and gossiping with my girlfriend. "Ya it is! And I could stare at him for hours and hours." Sophie giggled. "Seriously? Are we just gonna sit here and talk about how cute Austin what's his face is?" Me and Sophie gave each other knowing glances. "Aww is somebody jealous?" Dalton glared at his sister. "Oh please, I bet I'm way better looking than him." He ran his fingers through his straightened and fluffy blond hair. I wanted to touch his hair just a little bit but that would be inappropriate. "You keep thinking that." Sophie retorted. "Whatever, I'm going to the restroom, back in a sec."
"Hey, want to pull a prank on him?" I liked her idea but wasn't sure we could do it quick enough. "He said he'd be back in a sec." She raised an eyebrow."You believe that? Ya right, he's probably fixing his hair and eyeliner, he will take 15 minutes tops." I could just imagine Dalton checking himself out in the mirror, but I would too if I were him. "So what did you have in mind." Sophie had an evil grin on her face. "Why don't we pretend that we knocked each other out and freak him out. Trust me he is super gullible."
I grabbed some ketchup packets to use as 'blood'. I put some on my cheek to make it look like Sophie had slapped me and I layed 'lifelessly' on the cream carpet. Sophie had makeup on her right eye to create a 'black eye' that I 'gave her'. Her lower half was on the coach and her head was dangling off the side. When we heard the door creak we closed our eyes and tried to breath as quietly as possible.
I wish I could have seen Dalton's face when he came in because it was probably hilarious but I heard him instead. "Sophie, what have you done?!!" I could hear his footsteps moving towards me. "Lilly," he said shaking my arm. "Please wake up!" He gave up on me and moved to Sophie. "Sis please don't leave me, I love you. What am I going to tell everyone? Somebody help me!" I reached out and grabbed his ankle. Then he screamed the girly-ist scream ever and tripped over me. He kneed me in the stomach and I was in pain. But me and Sophie couldn't stop laughing. "I wish I could have seen your face." Sophie started tearing up. "Somebody help me!" I mocked.
"I can't believe you guys. I hate you." He was trying to sound furious but anger wasn't his thing. "At least we know that you love your sister." He gave me the evil eye. "If you tell anyone about this, I will hurt you." He seamed so upset but I didn't feel threatened. It was like being threatened by a Teddy bear. "Ok, whatever." Me and Sophie must have laughed for half an hour until Dalton finally warmed up to us again.
