I watched as he closed his eyes and read what I kept replaying in my head. I hated seeing it all again but I loved that I could finally tell someone about something that went on at home and I'm glad that it's him of all people.
There's no way to ignore this. That pile of tools, the blood,..... her voice...
{Flashback}
"Arr...eis...I just wanted you to know that I love you. I'm sorry... that I... never said it... before but I'm saying it now. I know... It doesn't make up for it... But I love you so much."
{End Flashback}I smiled softly to myself. I love you too Momma.
L looked up at me with tears on his eyes. "Arreis... I'm." He jumped on top of me tackling me back onto the bed. "IM SO SORRY!!!!!" He wept loudly with his arms thrown around my neck.
It took me a minute to process what had just happened and when I came to, a hug like that was really what I needed.
I wrapped my arms around him and tears raced down my face like fierce competitors racing each other.
"Arreis I'm so sorry." L sobbed. I wipen my eyes and sat up leaving him sitting on my lap facing me... still crying.
"Hey... Look at me." I smiled. I lifted his chin to meet my eyes as I wiped his tears away too. "Its okay L. I'll be alright. I don't have her anymore, that's true and I will never get to see her again but I still have you and that's all I need now... L, you're the only thing I have left and I will be forever grateful that it's you."
L's lip quivered and he threw himself back onto me hugging me tightly pinning my arms down. We fell back on the bed once again.
"Hey!" I yelled. "Get off!" I tried getting loose from his demon tight grip. "No." L stubbornly replied.
"You're not even crying anymore. Get off!" I protested. He just shook his head.
About half an hour of struggling, I had tired myself out and gave up. "Now what? I asked. L smiled. "Now you say that I win." He smirked.
"Fine you win but that's not what I meant. What do we do now? I'm not going back to that house ever again, I don't have any clothes, money, food, and I'm not old enough to move out yet so what now?" I lay there continuing with questions.
L let go of me and sat up, sitting on my stomach. "Okay slow down. I can take care of all of this."
"How?" I rolled my eyes. He folded his arms. "Wow not much faith you have in me is there?" He sighed. "Well for now, you can stay with me or forever if you'd like. In fact, I recommend living with me from now on. I'll keep you safe forever so long as you're with me. Good that's settled. You live with me no questions asked and no leaving either or I'll kidnap you."
I propped myself up on my elbows. "What!? Don't I get a say so in this? And get off me already." I looked away faintly blushing that he's still on me but not that he noticed.
"I didn't give you a choice to decide, I know what's best and hush I'm not done yet. I'm not moving off you til I am."
I sighed harshly and fell back dropping my elbows. "Well hurry up, this isn't very fun for me." For a minute, I thought I heard a 'mhm' but I didn't pay an mind to it.
"As for the rest. You don't have to go back there. Anything you need, just tell me and I'll go get it for you before they lock it all up. You don't have to worry about food, I got that covered... And you are going back to school."
I tried to sit up quickly and push him off but was shoved me back down by my shoulders. "Now before you say anything, lemme finish or I won't move at all." He warned.
"I haven't been to school either because I was here, taking care of you. But since you're back, and living with me, I think it's best to go back to school. We have every class together, it takes up more time, and it'll keep your mind off of things and it'll make you smart and you're in need of that. So we're going...together." He smiled. "See that wasn't so hard."
"Just get off." I pushed him off and sat up. "Why do I have to go to school? Would you be going with me?" I asked.
"I think going back to school would be great for you and yes, I'll b there too. I said I'm not leaving your side and I'm gonna keep my word." He grabbed my hand. "I promise I'll protect you Arreis."
He stood up and started to walk out of the cave. "I'm going to that house to grab you some stuff that you're gonna need. Stay here please. Can you do that? I can trust you right?" He asked looking concerned.
I nodded and crossed my legs. "Just hurry back okay?" He smiled and gave me a thumbs up as he left.
L's P.O.V.
I left my cave with a smile on my face. I can trust him not to leave...right? Man I hope he stays. I shook my head leaving my thoughts. I can't think about it right now. I have to get his clothes and school stuff.~time skip~
I made it to his front door. I couldn't find it by his scent like I did last time... the scent that now lingered here was death melted over blood... I opened the door and headed for the stairs to Arreis's room.
"Man it reeks in here." An everyday person wouldn't smell it nearly as bad. A lot of the times, I love my heightened sense of smell but sometimes, I really wish I didn't have it.
After I grabbed his back pack, some suit cases, all his clothes, his phone and charger, and bathroom stuff, I went back downstairs and went around and stuffed them full of things I thought would be his. I also didn't forget to grab some canned foods, chips, the drinks, and lots of ramen.
"I hope that's enough for now... I hope he's still there."
