She closed the book and wiped her tears. "I'm so sorry but you would've died." The pain stopped and my body dropped back down on the blankets. I was so exhausted and tired. I fell asleep before I could thank her one last time."

I woke up safely in my bed. I sat up surprised at my surroundings then realized that It didn't hurt to sit up. My body was just a little tired. I got out of bed and walked carefully down the stairs.

I saw mom drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. "Momma, how did I get home?" She didn't take her focus off the paper. "Some boy came by and said he found you asleep at the park. He carried you up to your room."

I thought for a minute. "What was his name?" She shrugged. "Said his name was L or something." I smiled to myself.

I looked down at my watch. "I gotta get ready for school." I drug myself upstairs and took a short shower and got dressed.

"I don't feel like doing anything. This feels horrible." I groaned. I wasn't hungry, I wasn't sleepy, I wasn't happy, I wasn't sad. I just felt exhaustion and my whole body felt weak and it was hard to move.

I went back downstairs to say bye to Momma. "Hey Momma?" I asked with a smile. She looked at me from the t.v. "Is it okay if I come home a little late tonight?"

She gave me a confused look. "What for dear?" I shrugged. "Maybe hang at the park or something."

"Just make sure to come home this time." I laughed and grabbed an apple. "Bye Momma." She waved me out.

I still felt super tired. I walked down to the cafe and took a seat on the stool and layed my head down on the counter. The workers were a little concerned. "What's wrong?" The new girl asked.

I looked up. "I feel exhausted. Can I just have a coffee this time?" She smiled. "Coming right up."

"Tough night?" Another worker asked leaning on the counter. I nodded slowly. "What happened?" I thought for a minute about what all happened last night. I couldn't tell him the truth. "Just a bad dream." That's what they told me I'd remember anyway right?"

I drank the coffee and asked for a little sweet cake to go. They put it in a pink pretty baggie and tied a purple bow around it this time. I paid and left another tip. "Bye everyone." They all waved as if to say it would all get better.

I turned the corner to the homeless man and held my hands behind my back. "Hello Mr. Freed." I grinned. He chuckled. "Well hello there young man. What's in store for today?"

I looked around. "Not much but I brought you something new today." He raised his eyebrows. "You did?"

"Mhm. Pick a hand." He chose the left. He got it right this time. "Right again sir but I'll get you next time just watch." I handed him the sweet cake and we laughed. "I gotta go or I'll be late. See you tomorrow."

The school came in view when I stopped in my tracks. Wait. I was suppose to forget about everything except for the healing process. I remember everything and it's not like it was just a dream. I remember everything clearly. Boy I was right to believe in all that stuff though.

I began walking again. Something still seems off about L. I thought back to when he answered me in class. I wasn't thinking out loud. Did he read my mind? Maybe it's best not to think about it then, just in case.

"Hey Arreis." I turned and saw L. "Oh hey L. How's your morning been?" He shrugged. "How about you? How are you feeling?"

We walked in school and to our first class. I set the apple on her desk and walked to sit down "I'm really exhausted. It was probably because of the dream I had last night, it was pretty horrible."

He laughed nervously. "Yeah. Looks like it did quite a number on you huh?" We took our seats. His was obviously right beside me.

I couldn't focus again and he kept staring at me. So I started thinking of random things.

Paper, pencil, wall, paint, googly eyes, hot glue gun, laughing, coffee, candy, potato fart, puppy tongue, kitty tail, nails, meow meow.

I turned and looked over at L. His head was tilted and he had the weirdest look on his face. I smiled and continued to think about random weird things.

We made it to lunch and those guys let us have their table again. I guess it would be me and L's table everyday from then on.

He pulled out some food and handed me some. I pushed it back. "No thanks I'm not hungry." He pouted. "Please eat it. If you don't I'll feel bad. I shook my head.

"I'm too exhausted. I don't wanna eat and I feel sick." He stood up and threw all of his food away.

I threw my hands in the air. "What'd you do that for!?" He crossed his arms. "If you don't eat then neither will I."

I put my head down. "I would've eaten if it meant you would too." He shrugged his shoulders. "Too late now. That's alright though, I ate yesterday."

The bell rang after awhile and we stood to leave. There was a crowd and I went to push my way through but someone bumped into me and L protectively grabbed me. "Hey watch where you're going clumsy!" He said to the other guy. I looked at L shocked at what he had just done. He smiled. "Come on, we're gonna be late." He pulled me along and made sure no one touched me.

We were almost to our next class when we stopped to hear my name being screamed across the hall. "Arreis! ARREIS!!" I looked to see a short girl jumping up and down shoving through the crowd to get to me. I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Her."
