Chapter 21

We kept kissing for a while & then I stopped myself.

"We can't do this Cameron.."

He looked back up at me, pausing. He looked disappointed.

"After him just doing that, you seriously still dont want to hurt his feelings? Come on."

He had a good point..

"I just dont think I can be doing this. I haven't even had time to ask him what happened. Really, all I need right now is a friend to be there for me and support me. Are you up for that, Cameron?"

He looked up and our eyes met. I grabbed his hand.

"Please?" I asked.

Cameron let out a sigh. "Anything for you gorgeous." We both stand up, getting off of the bed. He pulls me into one of the most caring hugs I've ever embraced. "I love you. You dont deserve this. If you need anything you can sleep here tonight if you want."

That's when it hit me that now it's night time.

"That'd me amazing. Thank you so much. Love you too, Cam. Let me go get my bag from my room & take a few minutes to see if Shawn can explain. Be right back."

"I can go get your bag, you stay here. you dont have to face him tonight."

"It's okay Cam, I want answers."

"Okay." He opened the door for me & shut it behind me.

I made my way to the hotel room Shawn and I were staying in and shoved my shaky hand down my pocket to grab my key card.

I slid the card into the door when the door opened.

I looked in the room and saw someone on the bed. I turned on the other set of lights (only one was on). Then I heard it. I turned around & Shawn was sitting on my bed, laying next to the teddy bear he got me, crying hysterically.

He saw the lights turn on and looked up. When our eyes met he stood up as fast as he could, back towards me. I think he was whipping away his tears.

"Parker--" Shawn started saying before I cut him off.

"Explain. I want answers." I said as a single tear rolled down my left cheek.

He walked towards me and dropped to his knees. Even on his knees, compared to me, his shoulders were at my hips.

he wrapped his arms around my waist and just sobbed. I pulled his face away from my shirt and cupped it in my hands. I looked at him.

His face was pale, his eyes were swollen from the tears. I stared into his eyes and started crying hysterically.

"My tell me what the hell happened." I said in-between breaths.

He stands up and i let go of his face. He takes his hands and puts his hands on my face.

"So she called me saying that she was in our hotel room. I got worried and went to go see if she was lying. I opened our hotel door and she was sitting on your bed going through your phone that you left on the night stand."

"Why would she be going through my phone!?" I screamed, making my way to my phone.

"I dont know, but when I told her to get the hell out of our room and give me your phone, she ambushed me. It was right when i heard you walking down the hall that she started talking all this nonsense. She kept going on about how she knew I still have feelings for her. I told her I'm in love with you and that nothing can change that. And she got all up on me, kissing me & everything. I tried to pry her off of me by putting her on the bed & that's when you walked in. Parker, I would never in a million years cheat on you. I love you to death." He started crying again & so did I.

"I believe you." I said.

He pulled me in for a hug & I hugged him back.

"I believe you, but I think I should sleep somewhere else tonight. I promise, its nothing permanent."

Shawn looks like he just got shot. "Alright. I understand."

I get my bag & get halfway down the hallway back to Cam's room when I hear someone running. It was Shawn.

He caught up to me, panting.

"Yes??" I ask, puzzled.

"You forgot this." He looked down at his hands, his face still tear stained. He held out a teddy bear.

It was the one he was laying down in my bed with. he had gotten me it in 4th grade for valentine's day. It was the only stuffed bear I had ever liked.

I take it from him and pull him down and kiss him one last time before a very long hug. "I love you" he whispers, trying to hold back tears.

"I love you too." I say as I let go. We look at each other for a little while and then we walk separate ways down the halls of the hotel.
