The following day everyone got up extra early to finish cleaning up the classroom. Everyone except for Yoshiki. It wasn't any surprise that he skipped out on cleaning, so no one made any comments on his absence. However there was a different air in the classroom than the previous night. Mayu was not with them, she was at a new school making new friends. Everyone cleaned in silence that morning not wanting to acknowledge the missing presence of their former classmate.
They finished just as the bell rang for class to begin, they all took their seats as students entered the room chatting freely with each other. Ms. Yui walked in and observed the classroom, pleased to see it was no longer in disarray. The class began and was over as soon as it started, or least it felt that way.
It was around noon and a sudden change in atmosphere had occurred. The air was thick and to Ayumi she could sense a strong spiritual force in the school. Something dangerous and vicious. Not wanting to concern anyone she kept this information to herself. However students were taking notice in this change of atmosphere rather quickly commenting on how everything seemed stiffer.
"Class rep, do you sense it too?" Naomi asked walking up to her. Ayumi nodded and waited for her other friends to join before she spoke.
"This definitely feels strange" She debated on what to say before giving up and telling her friends what she sensed. "There's a spirit here, it's very powerful so please be careful"
"Shinozaki now isn't the time for one of your ghost stories" Satoshi sighed not wanting to be embarrassed again.
"This isn't a ghost story, there really is something here, I can sense it" She shuddered, her ability to sense spirits had never been this strong before, whatever this spirit was it was here for reason. Someone must have summoned it. The bell for class rang and everyone hurried off.
As soon as school was done Ayumi hurried home. She went up to her sisters room,
"Hinoe, I need your help with something"
"Of course, what is it?" Hinoe was always glad to help Ayumi.
"Today at school I felt the present of a dangerous spirit and I'm worried for my friends" Ayumi voice was full of concern.
"Hmmm," Hinoe thought for a moment before picking up a book and looking through it "Kisaragi was built on the grounds of a former elementary school known as Heavenly Host, it's a long story but now it exist as place full of evil spirits, it's possible that one them made their way into Kisaragi"
"What can be done about it?" Ayumi inquired
"Well you can always try to send the spirit back, I'll come to your school tommorow and I'll see what I can do" Hinoe set the book down. Ayumi hugged her sister,
"Thank you" She left Hinoe's room and went to her own she hoped Hinoe would be able to help her.The next day Ayumi arrived at school, it had the same atmosphere as yesterday, except worse. The air had become thicker and everyone looked uncomfortable. Whatever spirit was here had grown more powerful. Ayumi decided to keep her discussion with Hinoe a secret. If anyone else knew it could end in chaos.
"Hey Shinozaki" Satosji wakes up to her. She smiled at him and blushed slightly, she had a huge crush on him. Unfortunately Yoshiki was with him, she was always annoyed by his presence.
"Hey Mochida, ...Kishinuma..." She sighed wishing for once she could be alone with Satoshi. Soon the rest of the group joined them and they chatted for awhile before heading to class.
Once they were in class the head teacher walked up to the podium, he looked disturbed.
"I have some unfortunate news to tell all of you, a former student, Mayu Suzumoto was killed in an accident early this morning on her way to school" Ayumi gasped, this couldn't be happening. Mayu couldn't be dead they just saw her a few days ago! Was this connected to the sudden appearance of this spirit?....
