A New Story [Corpse Party]

Chapter 2

  According to official reports Mayu was crossing the street when two cars collided head on. She was caught in between them and her entire body was pulverized. It was by far the most gruesome accident to happen in some time in the area and no one is able to accept the reality of what had happened.

  The rest of the day went by quietly, everyone was saddened to hear about Mayu's death, especially her close friends. Upon receiving this news the air in the school once again became thicker. Ayumi could sense the power of this spirit increasing, maybe it was feeding off everyones sorrow. If that were the case, it would be much harder to send the spirit back to wear it came from. 

  Hinoe was waiting for Ayumi when she got out of school. She also sensed the spirit's power and was concerned for her younger sister's well being. 

  "Ayumi, take me to the third floor please, I think that's where the spirit is residing" Ayumi, followed by her friends who insisted on accompanying her took Hinoe to the third floor. Sure enough by the east staircase was a spirit. It was nothing like Ayumi had imagined it, the spirit was a little girl in a tattered red dress and marks around her neck. There was no way that this was the powerful spirit. "It's Sachiko" Hinoe stepped back slightly. "All of you should leave, this spirit may not look it, but she is very powerful" 

    "I'm not going anywhere" Ayumi refused to move, and all of her friends stayed with her. Unable to convince them to leave Hinoe went on with attempting to remove the spirit. She pulled out some holy water and a spell book. she began to chant and splash the water at the spirit, but this only angered the spirit and everything began to shake violently. It was so powerful it caused Naomi to accidentally push Seiko down the stairs. A loud snap sound was heard and a pool of blood formed around Seiko's head. Naomi ran down the stairs to try and help Seiko but it was too late, she was dead. the spirit began to laugh manically and disappeared. 

   "Shinohara!" Ayumi joined Naomi at the base of the stairs by Seiko's corpse. She couldn't believe what was happening. Two friends were killed in one day, this spirit had to be the cause of Mayu's accident earlier. Hinoe stood behind Ayumi with a mortified look on her face. This was the price of a failed exorcism. If only it had been her instead of this innocent school girl. Soon everyone was standing around Seiko's corpse, more and more people gathered until a teacher arrived and shooed them all away. Only those present at the time of her death remained at the scene, except for Morishige. He was gone, he had taken the news of Mayu's death very hard and he had been acting strange all day. Ayumi had a bad feeling about his disappearance, so she convinced Hinoe and Satoshi to go with her to look for him. 

     It was on the roof top that they found Morishige he was standing towards the edge and he looked as if he could fall at any second.

    "Morishige! Please get away from there!" Ayumi called out to him as she stepped closer.

    "I need to be Mayu, I can't bear to live another second without her" he moved closer to the edge. 

      "Suzumoto wouldn't want you to do this!" Satoshi made his way to Morishige. Hinoe stayed back, afraid of what was about to happen. Despite all the efforts Morishige jumped from the roof and fell to the ground below. Students could be heard screaming and running around. Ayumi fell to the ground sobbing, today she had lost three of her friends.

     "Why is this happening?! What did we do to deserve this?!" She cried out. Hinoe went over to her and tried to comfort her, but she was inconsolable. Despite the events of that day, the school annouced that it would remain open for the week. Although it was tough, Ayumi and her friends managed to make it school the next day. There were flowers placed on Seiko and Morishige's desk as memorial to them. That day the air in  the school became almost unbearable...
