April 16, 1865
It was the last day of the war, Dean and Cas were getting ready to sart their lives together. They had both lived, survived. It was night time, Cas and Dean met up at the trench for the last time.
"It's over. We're going to live together forever!" Cas said wit a sigh of relief. "I love you!"
"I love you too!" Dean told Cas.
There were bushes near by that starte to rumble. "Hello?" Dean yelled. The voice must've alarmed the person in the bush because it triggered him to shoot. Cas let out a shriek.
Dean turned to Cas to see that he'd been shot in the shoulder, "Cas!" he rushed to Cas' side, "Cas, are you okay? Oh my god!" Tears were building up in his eyes.
"Holy shit, it hurts! I'm okay, I'm okay. I love you," Cas said.
Out of the bushes came a man, a colonel from the North. "Dean. You're with a fed? You're conspiring, with a fed?" he shouted.
"No!" Dean yelled, confused and horrified.
"You come here, boy!" the colonel grabbed Dean by the arm arm pulled him in. He whispered in his ear.
"No!" Dean exclaimed, offended.
"You'll do it, and until you do, I'll beat you!" he grabbed a thorned twig ad began hitting Dean.
Dean's face bled and began to swell. That's when he looked at Cas. He was crying and holding a bloody shoulder. Cas breathed heavily. Dean had seen his own men get shot before and he knew that every shot was deadly. The wound would get infected and Cas would die a slow, painful, horrible death. He didn't want that for Cas, he didn't deserve that. The colonel wouldn't kill Cas, it would be unhonorable.
Dean grabbed the gun from the colonel and he stopped beating Dean. "I'm sorry, Cas. I love you, and that's why I'm doing this."
Cas nodded as he understood everything going through Dean's mind, "I love you,"
Bang!
