Jana sighed and shook her head. "Jules, if you don't want to tell me then that's fine," She grabbed the popcorn bowl and stood up. "Just don't make up ridiculous stories. I'm not stupid."

"No." I grabbed her arm as she started to walk toward the kitchen. I stood up and faced her. "You're not stupid. That's why I'm telling you the truth." I opened my mouth and forced my fangs down. I swear Jana jumped a good two feet in the air before dropping the popcorn bowl and taking off into the kitchen. "Jana, stop!" I called after her. "Come back!" Not wanting to seem like a predator chasing her down just to scare her more, I waited to see if she would come back on her own. When she didn't I started to slowly make my way into the kitchen. "Jana..." I called softly. "Please, just let me explain."

She had backed herself up in the furthest corner of the kitchen by the staircase. Her face was flooded with terror and she looked to be on the verge of hyperventilating. She raised a shaky hand up and pointed at me. "Stay away from me."

I took a few steps forward. "Jana, just listen--"

"Don't come any closer!" She yelled. I stopped, but didn't say anything. I just stood there and waited for her to do or say something. After a few moments of staring at me with wide, scared eyes and heavy breathing, Jana moved over to the table and grabbed a chair, then she put it in front of herself as a shield. "Tell me how any of this is possible." She gasped out.

I sighed; relived that she was finally willing to hear me out. "It's a long story and it's probably going to make you lose your mind."

She shook her head. "Just tell me."

"Well, first of all, I'm actually an Immortal," I began. "An Immortal is what movies and TV shows portray as Vampires. I don't age, I have to drink blood, and I have special abilities. A real Vampire is born, not made-- like I was, but they still have to drink blood and have special abilities, too."

Her brow furrowed in confusion. "Wait, so someone made you into a Vampire," She sighed. "An Immortal?" She corrected herself with exhaustion in her voice. I nodded slowly. "Who?"

I paused just a moment before answering. "Chad." Her face fell. "He's a Vampire and his mom is an Immortal."

Behind the absolute shock and confusion, she cracked just a small smile. "No wonder Serena always looks so good." I smiled and let out a small sigh of relief knowing that Jana was still able to crack jokes in the face of terror. "So..." She slowly moved the chair aside and sat down on it. "Do you...hurt people?"

I shook my head quickly. "No, I only feed from animals," My words coming out in one breath. "But in full honestly I do drink from blood bags from the hospital."

She nodded once. I could see in her eyes that she was trying very hard to process all of this information. "Because it's easier than going out to find an animal every day?"

I nodded. "Yes, exactly!"

Jana let out a drawn out sigh and stood up. "I need some calming tea." She began walking to the stove where the tea pot sat on top of.

I chuckled. "Yeah, well you're gonna have to make a lot after what I'm about to tell you." She groaned and turned around to face me with the tea pot in her hand. I smirked. "Also put the tea pot down, I can heat it up for you."

Jana huffed. "It's fine, Jules."

I walked over to her and grabbed the tea pot from her. She flinched a little, but seemed to be okay with me by her. "I insist." I said as I set the tea pot back on the stove. "Go get a mug and fill it with water."
