I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I sat up quickly and grabbed my phone. 'Who could be calling me at three in the morning' I wondered. I looked at the Caller ID to see that it was Tyler. I smiled and answered quickly.
"Hello?" I asked, sounding extremely happily.
"H-hey. I don't mean to bother you but, I had some questions about this work I have to do," He said quietly.
"Oh, well I'm happy to help. What are you questions?" I replied.
"Well I have a lot, and I'm assuming I'll have more. I thought it might be easier if you just came over to m-my house," He replied, quieter than before. I blushed lightly.
"A-alright. I'll b-be there soon," I stuttered.
"Okay, s-see ya," He replied then hung up. I quickly stood up and walked over to my closet. I pulled out a black dress covered in roses. It was sleeveless and ended right above my knees. The neighborhood barbecue was today. I wondered if Tyler was coming too. I hoped he was.
I threw on the dress and some legging, since I assumed it might be chilly. I grabbed a jacket and my phone then, ran down the stairs and out the door. I walked down the street to his house. He had the nicest and biggest house out of everyone in the neighborhood. His dad was rich and owned the entire neighborhood, so we all had to pay him to live here, making him richer. They didn't come out or talk to anyone in the neighborhood very often. They never invited anyone over either so, when I started tutoring Tyler everyone was shocked. People would constantly ask me about him and the house but, that quickly died when I refused to answer the ridiculous questions.
I walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. A moment later the door was opened.
"Good morning miss. I'm assuming you're here to see Tyler," Their butler, Alfred (BAAATMAAAAAAN) said.
"I am here to see him, and good morning to you as well," I said happily. He smiled.
"Come on in," He said as he stepped to the side and opened the door, "He should be in his room. If he's not then he's probably in the lounge or the living room."
I nodded, "Thank you." I began to walk up the tall, white marble, staircase. I keep my hand on the gold colored railing as I looked at the wall. I noticed that there was a new painting at the top of the staircase. It was of a bridge over a river. A tree hung over the bridge. The tree was covered in bright pink cherry blossoms and darkly colored leaves. The ground was covered in green grass and small flowers, painted with every color you could imagine. It was beautiful. I smiled and stared at it for another moment before turning around the corner of the hallway. I walked down the hall and up to his door.
I knocked, "Hey. It's Jewel. You in there?" I heard rustling from the other side of the door. The door opened to a clearly sleep deprived, quiet, skinny boy. That's who Tyler was. Most people didn't believe me when I told them that, while they questioned me, but it was true. Just because he was the son of a rich business man didn't mean he was confident and arrogant. He was really sweet and quiet. He had manners and was nicer than most kids at school, and he was absolutely adorable. That's why I liked him. He was different from everyone else.
"H-hey," He greeted.
I smiled, "Hey." He opened the door all the way and turned around. He gestured me to follow him as he walked into his room. I looked around as I followed him. His room was still the same as it was last time. No matter how many times I was in his room or this house I still couldn't help but look around in awe. His room was huge, as was the house.
"Jewel?" He asked, snapping me out of my daze.
"Huh?"
"I s-said you could sit down," He replied, smiling.
