CHAPTER 5- Unusually Quiet

Beau's POV.

Jai came back looking a bit down. He didn't have the goofy smile that he had when he had left to take Lailah home.

"What's up Jai?" I asked softly, walking over to my brother. Jai looked up at me and sighed.

"She has a boyfriend" He replied sadly. My eyes widened.

"Oh..." Was all I said before I patted Jai on the shoulder and walked up to my room.

I lay on my bed most of the night just thinking about her. Her beautiful brown eyes, her beautiful black curls, her beautiful smile! I've never felt this way about any girl before... She's like a missing piece of me. I don't know what it is... But just something about her makes me fall in love just thinking about her...

Lailah's POV.

When my family finally came back with the groceries, Aunt Olivia started on dinner. Tammy and I were sitting and talking in our room. I hadn't told her about the Brooks brothers. I didn't know how she would react... Would she be angry? Would she be excited? I didn't know Tammy well enough to know how she would take it.

"So what did you get up to?" Tammy asked poking me in the ribs playfully.

"Oh nothing" I giggled. Tammy raised an eyebrow but before she could say anything, Aunt Olivia came in the room to tell us that dinner was ready. Tammy got up off the bed and walked to the door, then she turned to me,

"We're not finished this conversation" She said, winking.i laughed and rolled my eyes.

Jai's POV.

Skip came to stay the night at our house that night. Luke, Beau, Skip and me were all in Beau's room eating chips and drinking powerade. Beau was being unusually quiet and he was barely laughing at all the shit we were saying. Skip, Luke and I decided to go downstairs to watch Never Say Never. We all stood up but Beau didn't budge.

"Beau? You coming bro?" asked Skip raising an eyebrow. Beau shook his head and stretched his arms over his head.

"I'm getting really tired. I think I'm gonna hit the hay" He said quietly.

"Well you're boring!" Luke said as he walked out of Beau's room. Skip smiled and followed Luke. I crossed my arms and looked at Beau.

"What's going on?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing." He shrugged. I didn't believe him. Something was obviously up but I decided to leave it for now. I sighed and walked out.
