Chapter 7

CHAPTER 7- Broken

Jai's POV.

Lailah walked up to me and smiled shyly. I stood up and I was speechless. I stuttered for words until I could finally make out what I was going to say.

"You look beautiful! Wow!" I smiled at her.

"Thank you" She giggled in the cutest way possible. We walked to the ice cream place near our neighborhood and we looked at all the ice cream flavours that were displayed behind the counter window.

"What flavour do you want?" I asked her. She looked at all the flavours and then looked up at me excitedly.

"Gaah! There are so many to choose from!" She laughed. I laughed too. I was so happy around her. It's like, when I'm with her, I can totally be myself and not have a care in the world!

"I want some cookies and cream ice cream!" She finally said after a long 10 minutes of debating which ice cream to choose. I laughed and nodded.

"Can I please have two medium cups of cookies and cream ice cream please?" I asked the young girl behind the counter. She smiled and scooped up the ice cream into a cup.

"That'll be $7.00" She said, handing me the cups and spoons. I gave her the money and Lailah and I went to sit on the seats outside. A group of girls around my age were walking by. They spotted me and started screaming.

"JAI!" They all shouted. I smiled and waved at them. They ran up to us and one of the them started crying! They took several pictures with me and I signed a few of their stuff. They thanked me and I hugged each of them separately.

When they left, Lailah looked at me and giggled.

"Do you ever get tired of all this fame?" She asked, licking the ice cream off her spoon.

"Never. The fans are the reason we are where we are today. I love them all" I smiled. She nodded in agreement and smiled back warmly.

"Hello ladies" I heard a voice say behind me. I immediately knew who it was. I rolled my eyes and turned around to see Beau smiling all smug.

"Go away Beau" I said, before turning back to my ice cream which was now half melted. I looked up at Lailah who didn't take her eyes off Beau.

"Mind if I join you guys?" Asked Beau.

Before I could say anything Lailah quickly said "Of course!" with a twinkle in her eye. I muttered under my breath annoyed. Beau always ruins my dates. Even if it wasn't really a date...

Beau's POV.

I knew what I was doing was wrong. I was trying to take my own brother's girl! But I couldn't stop myself! Lailah was so beautiful! I had to have her! I sat down next to her and I took a spoonful of her ice cream and shoved it in my mouth. She didn't seem to mind but I could tell Jai was furious.

"Who the hell takes a girl's food? Go buy your own!" Jai almost shouted. Lailah's eyes widened.

"It's alright Jai" she smiled, "I can share." She reached her hand across the table to touch Jai's hand reassuringly. Jai hesitated for a second but nodded. He looked over at me and scowled. I widened my eyes and he looked away. Lailah was asking us questions but only I was answering them. Jai looked pissed off and I knew he was going to explode when we got home. He excused himself to go to the rest room so it was just me and Lailah... Alone...

I cleared my throat. "So... Jai tells me you have a boyfriend..." I said trying to break the silence. She looked away quickly but not quick enough for me to miss the pain that flashed in her eyes. I took her hand and stroked her face.

"What's wrong?" I asked sympathetically. She looked so upset. I fought with myself to keep from holding her tightly. She sniffed and wiped away a tear.

"I broke up with him this morning" She said and out came the outburst of tears. I gasped and comforted her.

"How come?!" I asked her softly.

"Jai kissed me yesterday and I kissed him back" She said through quiet sobs. My eyes widened and I felt my heart slow down. Jai came out of the rest room and as soon as he saw Lailah crying, he pushed me out of the way and held her. He held her the way I wanted so badly to hold her. I looked down and started walking back to my house.
