CHAPTER 6- I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream!

Lailah's POV.

I woke up the next morning to a text from Jessie.

*Text from Jessie*

Princess? Haven't heard from you in a while. R u ok? Txt back soon. Miss u! xox

I blinked a few times and sighed. I had to break up with Jessie. I couldn't do this anymore. I had only been in Melbourne for a day and I had already cheated on the most important person in my life. Jessie didn't deserve this. He's a good guy! He cares about me and I couldn't hurt him like this. I decided to call him instead of text him. I dialed his number and waited for what seemed a lifetime for Jessie to pick up. I could feel my hands shaking and my heartbeat getting louder with every ring. Finally the ringing stopped and an excited voice greeted me on the other end.

"Lay! Baby! How are you?" Jessie almost shouted with excitement in his voice. I faintly smiled.

"Hey Jessie..." was all I said. I could tell Jessie heard the sadness in my voice because his voice changed from excited to worried.

"Baby? What's wrong?! Are you alright?" he asked panicking.

"Jessie, we can't be together anymore." I said. I could feel the tears rolling down my face. I wiped then away and sniffed. Jessie didn't reply for a while and I let him process what I had just said to him.

"I have to go." Was all he said before he hung up the phone. I put my phone down and the tears came rushing out. I was crying uncontrollably. Jessie would probably never speak to me again. I broke his heart once and he took me back in a heartbeat and now I broke his heart again! I heard the bedroom door creak open and Tammy poked her head in. She smiled brightly and waved at me.

"Happy Sunday!" She giggled as she came to give me a quick hug. When she let go, she looked up at me and saw the tears. She gasped and cupped my face in her hands.

"What's the matter?!" She said wiping the tears off my face gently. I told her about Jessie and that I broke up with him because long distance relationships are too hard but I didn't tell her the real reason. She sighed and cuddled me.

"It's alright Lailah. You'll be ok" She said helping me up off the bed. We went downstairs and where mum and Aunt Olivia had made pancakes for breakfast. My phone beeped and a message from Jai popped up.

*Text from Jai*

Good morning! :) What are you doing today? I was wondering... Maybe you'd like to come for ice cream with me? It's cool if you have plans though. See ya around. x

I looked around the table to see if anyone had seen the message but they were all busy eating their pancakes. I started typing back.

Jai's POV.

I put my phone down after the message was sent. I was so nervous! Which was pretty weird because I'm hardly ever nervous. But she made my knees shake! Hearing her laugh gave me butterflies and looking into her eyes was like my own personal heaven. My phone vibrated and I jumped. I looked down to see the new text from Lailah.

*Text from Lailah*

Morning! I think I can spare a few hours to hang out with you! :) haha but I can't be too long! I have to unpack all my stuff. Meet up at yours in let's say... 20 minutes? Lay xx

My eyes lit up and I immediately jumped up off the couch to have a shower.

When I got out of the shower I put on some skinny jeans, a blue T shirt and a blue beanie a fan had given to me. I don't usually wear vans, but I had to look good so I threw on some dark blue vans and waited outside the front door for Lailah. As I was sitting on the grass, I saw her. She was wearing a pink floral print dress with bright pink vans. Her hair was shiny and her curls bounced perfectly every time she took a step. She looked absolutely gorgeous! I couldn't take my eyes off her.
