Chapter 9

CHAPTER 9- Everything Starts From Something

Tammy's POV.

I hadn't spoken to Lailah for 5 whole days. When she was around me at home, I would simply look away and keep my chin up. I tried to go out as much as I could. Just to keep myself from thinking about her and Jai. Lucas approached me several times, asking me to let Lailah come back to my room but I just couldn't. I couldn't stand being in the same room with her. She hurt me and I was not ok with it. It was the last week of 'end of term' holidays and I was in the kitchen preparing a hot milo for myself when Lailah came in. She didn't say anything at first but after a while, I heard her sigh.

"Tam, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not telling you what was going on. I just didn't know how you would react..." She said softly. I could hear her voice cracking like she was about to cry.

I shook my head. "Save it Lailah." was all I said before I walked away with my hot milo.

Lailah's POV.

Everything was so messed up! I never meant to hurt Tammy... I really wish I could fix everything. I went to mine and Lucas' room to change out of my pajamas. It was 9.30am on a cold Wednesday morning. Jai and Luke had promised to take me out to lunch today and I had to get ready. Luke and I had gotten close since I stayed at the Brooks' house for hours everyday to stay away from the drama at home. The three of us (Jai, Luke and I) would play x-box for hours on end! I didn't see Beau around much but since Jai had asked me to officially be his girlfriend, I tried to stop my feelings for Beau. Jai really does love me and I love him too. I also met James and Skip for the first time a few days ago. I also got closer to Skip and James since they're always hanging around Luke and Jai. Skip and I even have random phone calls sometimes when I just need someone to talk to and James gives the best advice on pretty much everything! They're all so protective of me, especially Jai. It's good to have people who look out for me when I don't even exist at home.

By 12.00pm I was all showered and prettied up to go out with the boys! I was wearing a purple oversized jumper, some black leggings and my worn out purple vans. My hair was in a cute high ponytail and my make up was simple. As I was touching up my eyeliner, there was a knock on the door. I jumped and ran downstairs to open it. There stood my cute boyfriend and his twin. Jai was wearing a black t-shirt, jeans, a black beanie and black converse sneakers. Luke was wearing a white t-shirt with a denim vest over it, some jeans and some black vans. I smiled and jumped on Jai, wrapping my legs around his waist and crushing my lips onto his. He laughed and kissed me back, holding me tightly. I jumped off and giggled. I then, went over to Luke and gave him a big hug!

Jai's POV.

I remember the day I asked Lailah to be my girlfriend, it was only a few days ago but just that little question changed my life completely and I'm glad I asked it. We were sitting on the porch swing out in my backyard, eating chocolate I had stolen out of Luke's stash. We were laughing while eating it, knowing how pissed off Luke was going to be when he found out. I went to grab another piece just as she did too and our hands touched. We had held hands several times before but this just felt different. I could feel the sparks and before I knew it, I cleared my throat, "Lailah, will you be my... g-girlfriend?" I stuttered, not knowing whether she would accept or reject... My heart was beating so fast and I could feel my hands getting sweaty. I remember the way her eyes looked when she nodded her head softly. They were twinkling and I swear I could see little stars in them. She laughed quietly to herself and I kissed her passionately. It was the kiss I was longing for. The kiss that meant 'forever'. The kiss that would make me happy for the rest of my life.

The lady behind the counter asking for our orders brought me back to now. We were at Maccas just a few blocks away from home.

"Can I get two double cheeseburger meals and Lailah, what did you want?" Asked Luke, looking over at Lailah who was playing with my hand. She looked up at Luke and smiled.

"A chicken and cheeseburger" She said before tuning back to my hand and tracing the lines on my palm with her finger gently. We waited about 6 minutes for our meals and when we got them, Luke carried the tray to a table. I sat down in the corner and Lailah sat beside me. Luke sat across from us and grabbed his food. He started stuffing his face with fries and drinking his coke. Lailah and I didn't touch our food because we were too busy being cute and holding hands. When Luke cleared his throat in annoyance, we laughed and started eating. Lailah took small bites of her burger and I finished mine in 4 bites.

"It's depressing to see you guys like this" Said Luke, looking at Lailah's hand in mine. Lailah stood up and sat next to Luke to cuddle him.

"You'll find a girl perfect for you one day!" She said smiling up at him, then smiling at me. Luke smiled faintly and Lailah came back to me. How did I ever get so lucky?

We got home at around 3 in the afternoon. Lailah came to mine for a bit so we went up to mine and Luke's room. Luke went over to Skip's house, Beau wasn't home and Mum was at work so Lailah and I had the whole house to ourselves. We were laying on my bed holding each other when I started trailing my hands down from her back to her stomach. I slipped my hand under her jumper and felt her warm skin. I started to draw little circles on her stomach with my finger. I could the feel goosebumps rising on her soft skin. I leaned over and kissed her mouth softly but passionately. I continued trailing my hand down to her thigh and rubbed it gently. Her breathing was getting heavier and I knew what was going to happen next.

Lailah's POV.

Jai's kiss became rougher until we were both gasping for air. He was trailing his hand gradually up my thigh. I closed my eyes and bit my lip. Then, I heard someone clear their throat and my eyes fluttered open. Jai's hand was no longer on me and his eyes were on Beau, who stood awkwardly at the door.

"Uhhh..." Beau hesitated, scratching his neck.

"What do you want?" Jai said annoyed.

"Nothing, I didn't know you had visitors..." He said flatly, looking over at me. I looked away embarrassed. Why did it suddenly seem like Beau hated me? As I looked away, my eyes scanned the open window and I gasped. It was getting dark and I had to get home! Jai looked over at me and realised that I had to leave.

He hopped off the bed and helped me off too. Beau still stood at the door looking at us. Jai took my hand and pushed past Beau, knocking him with his shoulder. Beau scowled at him and went into his own room. I looked back at Beau as he slammed his door shut. I sighed and walked to the front door with Jai.

"Today was really great Jai" I smiled warmly at him. He stroked my cheek and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Thanks for making my day amazing Lailah" he said, pulling me in for a hug. After saying our goodbyes, I walked home. It was raining so I quickly got inside and closed the door behind me.
