WHEN TYWIN LANNISTERheld his firstborn daughter in his hands for the first time, he smiled again after a long time. Smiling was not a habit of Tywin's, but seeing his little baby curled inside his arms and his wife laying next to him, admiring the view of her daughter, sweat dripping from her forehead after many hours she had fought to bring her into this world, not even he could contain himself.
The girl was a spit image of her mother, her blonde locks were barely visible and she had just opened her eyes, revealing a pair of beautiful emerald irises.
"She will become a beauty." Joanna said softly, resting her head on the pillow as she observed her daughter in her husband's arms.
"Just like her mother." Tywin replied, glancing at the grin that spread on his wife's lips.
"Our beautiful Renei." The words slipped like honey from Joanna's lips, just as Tywin moved closer to her, letting Renei in his wife's hug.
The girl buried her face in her mother's chest, causing Joanna to let out a soft sigh. She had done that, Joanna thought. She had given birth to that tiny little creature that already seemed to behold the world in her eyes. How could something so beautiful be hers?
She never doubted that her and Rudin would have a happy life together, but this was a happiness she could never have foretold. She had been on the birthing bed for an entire day, kicking and screaming, crying and hoping for it to be over, but all of her pain was gone when she heard his daughter's cries and in that moment to her ears, it was the most marvellous melody she had ever heard.
"She has your eyes." Tywin commented pointing at the newborn child.
"Let us hope she has your mind." Joanna smiled at her husband, as she stroked her daughter's head.
"She will." Tywin assured her. "She'll have a sharp mind this one."
"How can you tell?" Joanna wondered, turning to look at him.
"She'll be worthy of the Lannister name." He assured her. "I see it in her eyes."

Since Renei was born, time seemed to go faster than Joanna had expected and in no time, she was with child yet again. Once she announced it to her daughter that she would soon be gifted with not one, but two children, if the Maester was correct, the girl did not seem to cherish the idea. Instead she completely ignored her mother's statement, not even once mentioning her unborn siblings, not until her mother was almost at her time to deliver.
