After blocking his attack for probably the one hundredth time Noct fell to the ground and glared up at me as he tried to catch his breath.
He was definitely tough and hard to hit, but it was too easy to tire him out. Too easy to predict his movements. I sigh, "Your Highness you're clearly exhausted. At least take a break before you pass out."
He tries to stand and summons his sword, "I told you... To stop... Calling me that," he said through panting breaths.
I sighed again and held up my sword. He came at me fast, but by this point he was too tired to go at his full speed. He tried every thing. Warpstriking, attacking, pointwarping. The fight was a good one at first, but now it was just getting sad.
I parry one of this warp strikes and he falls again. I unsummon my weapon and hold a hand out to him, "Your Highness..."
He glares at me and stood up on his own, "I don't need any help from you," he walks over to the rest of the guys without another word.
What is with him?
The others tried to assure me not to let that bother me. I did my best to just shrug it off. I helped Gladio pitch the tent. Noct and Prompto set out camping chairs, and Ignis made dinner. His cooking was absolutely amazing. I don't think I'll ever taste anything half as good as this.
They talked about a bunch of different things around the glow of the fire that night. I contributed to some of the conversation, but I was still nervous to talk to or be around them. As the night grew longer, sleep began to take over all of us. Prompto stretches and yawns in his chair.
"I think it's time we hit the hay." He said.
We all stand up from our chairs and after putting out the fire the four men start climbing into the one tent one by one. I continued to sit in one of the camping chairs and watched the last sparks of flame leave the burnt logs.
"Hey, aren't you coming?" I looked over at Prompto sticking his head out from the tent.
I just looked at him trying to come up with a response, "I don't think a certain prince really wants me in there,"
"I don't," I hear him call out followed by mumbling and hitting. Prompto sighs and sticks his head back inside. I turn my attention to the sky, thinking that the boys are going to sleep. I then hear someone exit the tent.
"Here," I look over at Prompto handing me a blanket, "I can't really make him lighten up, but one night shouldn't hurt, right?"
I hesitantly took the blanket from his hands, "Thanks,"
He smiled, "No problem. We'll buy you a new tent later," he crawled back into the tent without so much as a good night. I wrap the blanket around myself and look back up at the sky.
Why me?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning wasn't very eventful. After eating and cleaning up camp we went in search of the dangerous animal Dave had mentioned yesterday. We fought a few more enemies along the way, and we all worked together more than we had before.
Eventually, we found a large Dualhorn like creature, but it looked a lot more aggressive. It was tough at first, but we took it down. Not long after that, Cindy called to tell us the Regalia was fixed.
We quickly made our way back to Hammerhead. Prompto seemed the most excited about seeing Cindy again.
When we got back, we saw she had done more than just fixed the car. She had polished the whole thing to perfection. She said Dave got back last night and his ankle would be just fine. We thanked her for the trouble and then got ready to head for Galdin Quay. The other were excited to get to Altissia. Probably because I'd be out of their lives for good, but I remembered what King Regis had told me before yesterday.
I wondered what would really happen there. Would Noct still marry Lady Lunafreya? Would the empire come and execute Noct and the rest of us? And what if they found out that I knew the truth of the ceasefire? Would they just abandon me? As if that would be any worse than how they've treated me.
