Chapter 17

As I stepped out of the shower and began to dress myself, a loud banging made me jump out of my skin.

"Y/N! Open up!"

My face fell in shock. Are they crazy?! I stormed my way to the front door and swung it open before they could start banging again. I found a clearly angry Ignis and Gladio standing before me.

"Are you two insane?! Can't you see I want to be left alone?"

"Don't start." Gladio commanded. I rolled my eyes and walked away from the door, rudely allowing them to come in.

Ignis shut the door behind us, "Now, what is going on?" He demanded.

"Why do you care?" I asked.

"Oh would you grow up!" Gladio shouted. I stared at him in shock, "Noct wakes up and you suddenly up and leave without a word? You didn't think we'd be upset?"

"You had us worried sick all night!" Ignis added, "Why would you run off without telling us at such a late hour?"

I started to feel even more guilty than I already did, but I couldn't help but be angry. I knew they did nothing wrong, but my anger for Noct couldn't be extinguished.

"Noct didn't say anything to you?" I asked cautiously.

"He just kept saying he messed up big time. I don't understand. I know he can be a pain, but what could he have possibly done to make you run away?" Gladio questioned.

I sighed and sat at the edge of the bed, "It's a personal matter-"

Gladio cut me off with a snort, "Oh no. Not anymore its not." I glared at him.

"I'm afraid Gladio's right. It stopped being personal between you two when you ran off. We're not leaving you in Lucis and we're certainly not bringing you back until you tell us what's going on."

I shot up, "Why? I don't feel comfortable sharing this with you!"

"It can't be that bad!" Gladio yelled.

"You two are clearly incapable of solving this on your own. So we're going to do this for you." Ignis explained.

"Why can't I just stay here?" I asked.

"Because you're one of us now. And we take care of each other whether you like it or not." Gladio stated angrily.

I rubbed my face with both hands and groan frustratedly. This seemed to annoy them further.

"Just tell us whats going on!" Ignis shouted.

"He kissed me! Okay!"

The two boys fell silent at my outburst. I sat back down and buried my face in my hands, holding back my tears.

Ignis sighed, "Well, he wasn't wrong. He certainly had messed up badly this time."

"I guess I don't blame your reaction then." Gladio said apologetically.

"Gladio and I will have a talk with Noct about professionalism. We apologize for his behavior and ours." I knew they only wanted to make me feel better. But this somehow made things worse.

"Thanks..."

"We'll let you stay here until Noct is fully healed. That should give you enough time to recuperate. We'll let you know when we'll be leaving and come get you. Is this alright with you?" Ignis asked.

"Yea... I suppose."

The day finally arrived when we would be heading to Altissa. I hadn't seen or spoken to Noct for a few days and I wasn't sure I'd be ready to see him now.
