My eyes shot open and I sat up in a panic. However, I suddenly stopped as a wave of sore pain flowed throughout my body. My side is what hurt the most. I held my hand to the sore spot and looked at my surroundings.
I was lying in a bed of a hotel room... with Prince Noctis sitting in a chair beside me. His elbows rested on his knees as he leaned forward with a blank expression, "Rise and shine," he greeted plainly.
I continued to look around in confusion as I tried to sit up better, "Where are we?" I asked.
"Lestallum," he answered.
I squinted at him in confusion, "Wait... what happened?"
He sighed quietly, "You tried to save me... and then got knocked out by the behemoth." My memory started coming back to me slowly, "We finished the job and Gladio had to carry you back to the Regalia."
I sighed as I tried my best lay back and relax. I layed my arm over my face to cover my eyes, "Well, thanks for not leaving me to die."
There was no response. I looked up at Noct and could tell that something was bothering him, "You ok?" I asked.
He didn't say anything at first and couldn't look at me directly. "I just..." he paused. Noct suddenly stood up from the chair and walked towards the window, scratching the back of his neck. He then sighed and turned to face me, "Th-thanks... Thank you for saving me... and... I'm sorry for being so rude to you,"
I smiled slightly. I never thought I'd hear him say these things, "You're welcome, Your H-" I noticed him flinch slightly. Like he knew he wasn't going to like what I was about to say. I sighed. I may have been trained differently, but he clearly hates being treated like royalty. I guess it's more important that I respect that, "I mean... Noct" I could tell he was trying to hide a slight smile, "And thank you for helping me,"
"No problem, Y/N" I could see why he seemed so shocked when I called him Noct for the first time. He never referred to me by name before. It made me... really happy.

I awoke early the next morning from the rays of the sun hitting my face. I got up slowly, trying not to strain myself. I had nothing to do, so I got ready and walked downstairs to the lobby. I found Noct alone.
"Morning," he greeted casually. I was still too groggy to give a proper good morning so I gave a small wave while trying to rub the sleep out of my eyes. "Are you feeling better today?"
I nodded, "I'm a little sore, but it's not so bad." We fell silent for a moment, "So, uh, where are the others?"
"They all went sight seeing." he answered.
"Oh," I thought for a moment, "Do you wanna go too?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
"Why?"
I scoffed lightly, "Come on. Don't you wanna go outside instead of sitting in here?"
"Not really," He said with no hesitation as he pulled out his phone.
I crossed my arms, "You're no fun," I walked over to one of the windows and stared outside. I would have liked to go out, but I can't really leave Noct here alone. I here him sigh and stand up.
"Fine... What'd you wanna do?" He asked.
I looked at him slightly shocked. I wonder what changed his mind. "Oh, well. Have you eaten yet?" He shook his head, "Why don't we get breakfast then?"
He stuffed his hands in his pockets, "Alright, let's go." He walked out ahead of me and I quickly followed.
We managed to find an outdoor restaurant and sat down. We looked over the menus in silence and I noticed that Noctis was furrowing his brows in frustration. When the waiter came we ordered our food and continued to sit in silence. It wasn't long until we both pulled out our phones to ease the awkwardness. It was weird being alone together like this without wanting to kill each other.
It wasn't long before our food came. After thanking our waiter, I quickly began eating. I then noticed Noctis picking at his food. He was pulling out any traces of fruits and vegetables. I rolled my eyes slightly. What a picky eater.
We never spoke, just ate in silence. But it didn't matter because I wasn't truly there. I was lost in my thoughts. After we finished our breakfast Noct pulled out his phone.
"Ignis hasn't texted me," he said as he looked at his phone, "Guess we still have time."
I thought for a moment, "We can visit the outlook,"
He stood up, "Ok, let's go," We walked together, slightly far apart.
The sun had just finished rising as we approached the outlook. I looked out into the distance and tried to lose myself in the scenery. Then Nocts voice pulled me out of my thoughts, "So... I've been wondering," I looked at him with concern. He was leaning against the wall that bordered the outlook and stared down into the shrubbery bellow, "What... exactly did my dad say to you before we left?"
I sighed. I never did explain why I was sent by his father to accompany him, "Well... I was requested to speak with him, and he told me that the ceasefire was a lie. Niflheim used it as a pretext so that they could attack the Citadel from the inside. Your father already knew, right away, but he didn't want to just sit around and do nothing." I paused and looked at him. I could see his eyes water slightly. He didn't look at me. "He didn't send you four out to Altissia so that you could marry Lady Lunafreya. He wanted you to escape days before the signing and stay safe." It was quiet. He looked broken. In the time I've spent with him I realized he really wanted to marry Luna. He didn't really show it, but it was obvious how thrilled he was about the ceasefire. But that had all crumbled before his very eyes. It killed me. It felt like my fault.
Noct took a deep breath to keep himself from crying. His head shook slightly as if to deny what he heard, "Why?" Noct whimpered, "Why did he lie to me?"
I took a deep breath. I wanted to approach him and comfort him, but something told me I shouldn't. "He knew you wouldn't leave his side if he told you." I answered. The silence between us was deadly. I almost couldn't bare it.
He sniffled as he stood up straight, "We should head back..." He turned around and went on without me towards the hotel.
I'm sorry Noctis. I'm so so sorry.
