Lyra woke up with a start. She looked around the room with a confused expression. How had she gotten there? When did she get there? She got up slowly, noticing how sore she was. Walking to the kitchen to get her something to snack on, she bumped into Marley.
"Oh, you're awake," Marley said. she continued to walk to the kitchen, Lyra followed after her. Marley's mom was cooking, she and Marley set the table for dinner. Once Marley's mom finished cooking they all sat down to eat. There was a knock at the door. Marley's mom answered it only to find two policemen at the door.
"How may I help you?" She asked.
"We are looking for Lyra Summers," One of the police officers said.
"What do you want with me?" Lyra said as she heard her name in the conversation.
"We have come to tell you something important..." The tall, dark haired officer said. Lyra furrowed her brows in confusion.
"What is it?" She asked slowly as if trying to figure it out by herself.
"You're father...has escaped, and he's running rampant..." The other officer said.
"What?!? How?!?" Marley's mom yelled.
"We aren't sure but we are doing everything in our power to find him before he hurts anyone," The dark haired officer spoke.
"As we said, we are doing everything we can to find him," The blonde officer said. "There will be an officer to escort you wherever you go, just in case he comes to find you," she continued.
"Thank you for letting us know," Marley's mom said. The officers left. Lyra began to breakdown.
"I can't believe this..." She whispered softly. Marley hugged her best friend.
"It'll be okay, they will find him," Marley's mom said.
Lyra
Everything was falling apart. I didn't know what to do anymore. Jax, Ranea, and Kain came over once they heard the news.
"How are you holding up darling?" Ranea asked. I shook my head, knowing that if I talked I would break down. I knew I was already having a nervous breakdown.
"We're here for you, just remember that," Jax said. Jax may be tough on everyone, but he really is a sweetheart.
"Yeah, we will always be here for you," Marley said. She was known as the 'mom' of the group. Kain continued to hold me. Just knowing that my friends would be here for me, was enough. I could feel the tears prickling in my eyes. It was taking a lot of self control not to cry in front of everyone. I was glad it was still the weekend, but I knew I'd have to go to school on monday.
"Ra...Lyra...Lyra!" I was brought out of my thoughts. Marley was trying to get my attention.
"W-what?" I stuttered out.
"You just spaced out..and you're crying..." Ranea said. I couldn't hold it back anymore. The dam broke.

Lyra began to cry. From her standing position she fell to the floor, crying with the force of someone throwing up. Her shoulders shook heavily with each sob. Lyra tried to speak, but she found herself at a loss of words. Jax and Kain were holding her up, while Marley and Ranea tried to comfort her. She was trembling.
