Lyra woke up once again. This time she was bombarded with questions from nurse. She didn't even have time to answer all the questions asked. "Nurse Emily, Let the girl speak," The doctor said. He was the doctor that helped Lyra after her father tried to kill her. Doctor Bluestein. "How are you feeling Lyra?" He asked.

"Kinda crappy," She replied.

"Well, you get to go home today, that outta cheer you up," He replied. Kain and his mom walked in just as doctor Bluestein was leaving.

"Hey," Kain said as he walked in. Lyra gave him a slight smile.

"You had us worried sick Lyra," Kain's mom said. Lyra hung her head in guilt.

"I'm sorry," Lyra said quietly. Lyra felt a gentle hand under her chin, lifting her face up. A pair of lips locked with hers, in a soft quick kiss.

"Don't worry about it love," Kain said softly. "All that matters now is you're safe,"

Lyra kept remembering the fight she had with Marley. Just then Marley walked in. She looked at Lyra and burst into tears as she hugged her.

"I'm so sorry Lyra, I shouldn't have said that!" She cried. Lyra was stunned. Her shocked look turned into that of a soft smile.

"It's okay," Lyra said. She hugged her best friend back. Lyra cried into her best friend's shoulder. Marley was crying and continuously apologizing. It took a while before either would let go. They needed this though, it had been a tough few weeks.

After their reunion Lyra was finally released from the hospital. She went home with Marley. Lyra laid in her bed for a while, Marley came in. "Hey Lyra," Marley said startling the brunette out of her daze.

"Hey Marley," She said sitting up. Marley sat on the edge of Lyra's bed.

"I wanted to say that-" Marley was cut off by Lyra.

"If you are going to apologize again...don't," Lyra said. Marley closed her mouth. "It's okay, I forgive you," Lyra added.

"I just want to make things right again," Marley said softly. Lyra was silent.

The two girls sat there in silence until Marley's mom called them for dinner. After dinner the two girls went to bed. The weekend was over and they had school the next morning.

Lyra woke up in a cold sweat. She looked around the dark room. Laying her head against the pillows she tried to go back to sleep. The remnants of the dream still in her head however, made it impossible. Lyra lay awake, thinking of the dream.

The next morning Lyra got out of bed. She was not ready for the day. She got dressed and went to the kitchen for breakfast. Marley was already sitting at the table. Once the two were done with their breakfast they headed to school. Marley's mom drove them.

Lyra walked over to Kain. "Hey," He said. Lyra smiled.

"Hey," he drew her into a hug. She breathed in his scent. He nuzzled his face into her hair.

"I missed you," He said softly.

"I missed you too," She replied.

"Get a room you two," Came the distinct voice of Jax. Lyra laughed a little and playfully slapped his arm.

"Oh be quiet," She told him. He gave her a small hug, mostly because he was afraid of Kain.

"Glad to have you back Lyra," He said.

"That it is," Ranea piped in. Kain took Lyra back into his arms. He kissed her forehead.

The five of them headed to class. Then lunch rolled around.

"Look the runaway is back," Anthony Rogers said. He was the jerk of the school.

"Go away Anthony," Lyra said. Her friends hadn't gotten to lunch yet, she was an open target right now. She wished they'd get there fast.

"How about no," He said. 'Let's ruin her life even more' He thought to himself. He noticed Kain heading over. He leaned down and kissed Lyra. When Kain saw this a lot of things ran through his mind. A frown crossed his face. His eyes held betrayal, anger, and hurt. Lyra saw him. When she recovered from the shock, Anthony had released her, Kain was heading out.

"Kain wait!" He turned on his heels fast.

"What?" He sneered. He didn't want to believe that she would do this to him, but he saw it with his own eyes.

"Kain it wasn't what you thin-" He didn't let her finish.

"Really, cause it looked like you were kissing Anthony," He said. His calm tone scared her.

"I didn't-" He cut her off again, not giving her time to explain.

"I'm done," was all he said before walking away; leaving her stunned in the hall.

Lyra couldn't even bring herself to cry. Once she got home she locked herself in the bathroom. Marley, Jax, and Ranea had heard about what happened. Marley was the only one who gave her a chance to explain. Lyra found herself going back to old habits. She found her blade and pressed the cold metal against her skin. It was a feeling she almost missed. She drug it across her arm. One cut turned into six; six turned into ten. Once Lyra was satisfied she cleaned her arm and the blade. She wrapped a bandage around her arm.

The next morning Kain wouldn't talk to her. Ranea glanced at her every now and then. Jax was striking up a conversation with Kain. Marley sat with Lyra. The two girls saw Anthony walk in. Marley stomped over to him.

"Why would you do that!?" She screamed at him.

"It doesn't matter, so stay out of my business," he said.

"When my best friend is involved, it is my business," She sneered at him.

"Get out of my way," He replied to her comment and pushed her away.

Lyra avoided Jax, Ranea, and Kain for the rest of the day. She hoped that the truth would get out soon. She missed Kain. She was hurt that he didn't give her a chance to explain. She had an appointment with her therapist today, she would ask for advice on how to fix this.

"And then he kissed me and Kain saw...then he stopped talking to me," She finished. Her therapist was shocked that someone would go so far as to ruin someone's life like that.

"Well, first of all I'm sorry that happened and I'm glad you told me. Second, I'm sure this will run its course. Don't get too worried over it," Her therapist said.

Lyra went home, she laid in her bed. She refused to go down for dinner. She soon fell asleep. The next day Lyra decided to face Anthony. She walked up to him after school.

"Why?" She asked.

"Because, you're life is perfect," He said "I'm tired of it," Lyra laughed.

"You..think my life is perfect?" She asked there was disbelief in her voice. "My mother was murdered, My father was broken...I was abused, my best friend fought with me, I was so hurt I ran away, and now you've ruined everything! I surprised I'm even still here," she said. Anthony was actually stunned. He didn't know any of that. A frown settled into his features. Lyra walked away from him. Kain who was standing by heard everything. He couldn't believe himself. He didn't even give her a chance to explain herself. Now he knew the truth...and it might be too late.
