Hey, Here's chapter nine.

Lyra

The next morning I awoke to my blaring alarm. I walked into the bathroom. My eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying so hard. Shutting the door I found my razor. I locked the door and sat on the edge of the tub. Placing the razor to my wrist I drug it across. I hissed at the pain but continues.

One turned to three, three to seven, seven to eleven... Soon Lyra had an arm full of cuts. Some of them reopened from the last time. Lyra looked at her arm. She reached out with her other hand and turned the water on. Red crimson mixed with water and tears, swirled down the drain. She put her arm under the water, hissing a little as it stung the newly open cuts. Once they were clean she found a wrap and wrapped her arm up. She let the tub drain. Unlocking the door she went back into her bedroom. Some of the cuts had started bleeding again. 'Well long sleeves for a while...' Lyra thought to herself. She laid down feeling dizzy again. 'I didn't cut that deep did I?' Lyra thought to herself. Her head began to spin and the room was dancing in circles. She got up and walked to her door. "Lina...help," She said. She saw Lina's worried and shocked face before the world went black.

Kain

I got a call from Lina about Lyra. My mom and I are headed to the hospital. I called Jax and Ranea. I am so worried, Lina sounded so...scared when she called me. "What do I do mom?" I asked. My mom always knew what to do, but today she was silent. She shook her head.

Jax

Well, lyra's in the hospital again. I'm not sure what to say. I just wish she wasn't so hard on herself. I'm headed to the hospital with Ranea. god...I hope Lyra's okay.

"Please be okay Lyra," Kain said to the pale, sleeping figure on the bed. It was unnerving how still she was. He held her limp hand in his own. Jax stood with Ranea, they both were looking at their friend with sadness. There was a bandage on her arm, from her elbow to the end of her wrist. They all knew what that meant.

Kain and Jax were talking to each other when they heard a groan. Kain's head snapped towards Lyra.

Lyra

Everything hurt. I felt like I had been run over by a freight train. The room was blurry and my head was still spinning. "Lyra, oh thank goodness you're awake," I heard Ranea's voice.

"What happened?" I asked. My voice sounded raspy and my throat was dry. There was silence throughout the room. Then memories came flooding back to me, making my head spin even more. I closed my eyes to try to hold the tears back. "Guys...I'm sorry..." No one said anything. I felt a hand gently squeeze mine.

"No one blames you Lyra," Kain said softly.

"I'm so weak...I can't do anything right," She replied.

"No you are not weak, and everyone makes mistakes. You have you're bad days sometimes," Kain replied.

"That's not true..I always have bad days...I always make mistakes...I never do anything right...I even forgave my father for what he did to me...tell me does that sound right to you?" Lyra was on the verge of hyperventilation now. Lyra despite her aching muscles stood up real fast and ran. Before anyone could get over the shock she had found a storage room and locked herself in.

They had a few policemen come in to help find the missing girl. There came a knock on the door to the room lyra was in. She stayed silent. "Lyra, are you in here?" she heard Kain's voice. "Please if you're in here...open the door..." in his voice there was desperation and concern. Lyra still stayed silent. The door clicked and two policemen and Kain walked in. Lyra hid in the back corner of the room. Her knees up against her chest, and head in her hands. Lyra felt the atmosphere change as someone kneeled in front of her. "Lyra," Kain's soft voice made her shutter. She didn't deserve his kindness.

"Go away," She said, though it was muffled by her hands.

"Come one Lyra, Everyone's worried," He pushed.

"No, I'm not going anywhere!" She yelled. "I don't deserve you guys..I'm nothing...a nobody...I'm worthless...I'm stupid!" she yelled.

Lyra

Worthless, nobody, stupid,' These words rang around in my head. As I told Kain this he looked at me with soft, caring eyes. My heart was racing and I felt like I was drowning.

"Lyra, It'll be okay...we are here for you," kain whispered, I knew he was trying...but it wasn't helping. "Just close you're eyes and focus on you're breathing," Everything was muffled. The sound of my heartbeat was loud in my ears. I felt a gentle hand on my shoulder.

"Shh, I'm here, It's gonna be okay, everything is going to be okay," Kain's voice was becoming more clear. I opened my eyes and Kain was still in front of me. Concern filling his emerald eyes. Slowly and shakely I got up, with Kain's help. He carried me back to my room as I could barely stand.

Over the course of the next few weeks they slowly began chemotherapy for Lyra. She seemed to be getting progressively worse with the leukemia.

Lyra wanted to make amends with her father, and he seemed as though he wanted to make amends with her. It was going to be a long and hard road to recovery, that is...if she recovers.

During chemo Lyra would often talk with her friends. Sometimes she would fall asleep. They were with her every step of the way. She had been alone enough times in her life. They were not going to leave her all alone anymore.

Kain took Lyra to see her father again. She felt the need to tell him what was going on.

"Nice to see you today. It's been a while," Her father said. Lyra looked terrified to tell her father about her Leukemia.

"Father...you aren't going to like what I'm going to tell you...that is if you truly want to rebond...." Lyra started, her eyes glistened with tears. He looked confused. Kain looked sympathetic. "I...I have Leukemia...." Lyra's father looked up at her. His eyes held confusion, sadness, and fear.

His facial expression was stoic. Then he started laughing.

"This is a joke right? You're just kidding me," he said. Lyra's facial expression held his answer.

"No...it's not a joke," Lyra said. "I wouldn't joke about this,"

Lyra's father looked as if he was about to pass out. "I can't believe this," He said quietly. "Tell me I'm dreaming," He said, he had a far away expression. He seemed to be trying to get his his head around it.

Lyra left after the time she had with her father was up. She laid in her bed, thinking of the previous weeks. Wondering how she was still even there. With that thought she finally closed her eyes and fell into a dreamless slumber.

I finally got a computer and now I can type up chapters a little faster. Also just a heads up, there might be a pretty biggish time skip in the next chapter.
