Julian POV

I woke up on a bed , not in my uncles house I would know because he used to chain me to a bed post and I'd sleep on the floor , he thought we were vermin so he treated us like it , he wasn't kind enough to even give us pillows to sleep with much less let us sleep in a bed . My head hurt like hell from were he hit me with a bat , when I defended my sister well I wouldn't call it defending I called him a piece of shit because he abused me and raped my sister countless times in front of me and made me watch , I'll kill him if I ever get a chance . The door swung open and a man who looked to be in his early twenties stepped through he looked at with a smile across  his face . He had straight brown hair that was long enough for him to pull off a man bun and it look good , he had blue eyes and a very well trimmed beard he looked like an football played the dude was massive

" Glad you're finally awake kid , how do you feel you must have a headache here take some aspirin ." He said. " My names Spencer Rork , but I'm known Courage when I go out in missions , don't worry about your sister she's safe , you're at one of our safe houses , she's in the dining room ready to eat I came to get you ."  I looked at him trying too see if he was lying I could pick up on liars easily , but he was being sincere . "  How long was I out Spencer ?" I ask " 16 hours , you took a beating I admire your guts kid not many people would stand up to their abuser much less do it for their little sister ." I smiled at the compliment , he handed me a shirt and I put it on as we headed into the kitchen I saw 3 other men all around the same age group as Spencer " These are my brothers the one with the long sword Is Roger also known as Wrath , next to him with the spear and shield on his back is Caleb or Rage , and the one on the end with the quiver on his waist is Mikey or Mercy he is the one who got you and your sister out of the the house . "  my little sister walked up to Spencer and tugged on his belt loop "what is it  kiddo ?" " mister what happened  to are uncle and who are you ?" Aberdeen asked I was so glad she was alright she was literally all I had left that was my world right there also I wanted to know about my scumbag of an uncle too when I heard Roger interject " Your uncle won't be hurting anyone anymore , I saw to it that him and his buddies won't ever prey on the weak in this life or the next ." I smiled the weight of the world came off my shoulders but they hadn't answered her second question " We are known as The Outsiders , we operate in secret saving children from abusive homes and getting wayward young men of a troubled path , we are a men only thing kinda like a Frat but we kill scumbags and protect those who can't stand up for themselves , which actually brings us to our next problem finding you too a home , Your sister wants to join the Hunters of Artemis , it's an all female group kinda like ours but their existence is known and they hate men cause of terrible things men have done to them , i figure you don't wanna say goodbye to your sister but that's the safest place for her to be , the huntresses will teach her how to adequately defend herself so she can stand up for herself  ." I nodded in agreement he knew exactly what to say and how to say it to me I didn't care what happened to me but I wanted my sister to be safe from harm . " Well Aberdeen you should probably get your goodbyes out of the way before Mercy takes her their ." Spencer finished .

My little sister came up to me with tears in her eyes as she hugged me " We will give you both some privacy ." Roger said leaving the room with the others trailing behind him . " Thank you so much Julian for being the best brother ever " my sister voice was starting to choke cause she was upset she was leaving me behind " he sis don't cry you gotta be tough , and if course I would protect you , you're the only thing I have that's family and I love you we're family you'd do the same for me wouldn't you ." I was starting to get choked up my stoic facade was falling apart because I knew that I was being her anchor for two years of abuse and I would push my emotions off to the side for her sakes cause she was my sister and it was my job as the older brother to protect her from bad things , and now I was letting her go and it hurt it hurt worse than the beatings my uncle gave me on a daily basis .

I hugged her and we sat their for about 15 minutes not talked just holding each other like we hadn't seen each other in years , I heard  footsteps and I saw Mikey come in he saw us and a smile of true happiness came across his face , Aberdeen fell asleep in my arms " You'll see her again it's not goodbye , we have an offer for you but we will explain after we get her to Artemis , family is great especially the bond you two share , we hate splitting up brothers and sisters so we came up with the solution for that ." He said  he took Aberdeen in his arms " Ill be back in a few hours you get some more rest ." He finished as he walked out the door a tear made its way down my cheeks " I Love you Aberdeen I'll always protect
