Chapter 8
Sophie arose from her deep,peaceful slumber to her eyes burning like they were about to burst into flames. She buried her eyes into her hands to sooth the pain but it just kept getting worse and worse the more she tried to calm the pain down. She released her hands away from her face but there is no words to describe how much her eyes sting. She managed to attend school and her eyes soon eased from the ache. Sophie spotted Matt by his locker. She wandered over to him when he saw her coming from the corner of his delicate,sparkly brown eyes and turned around slamming his locker in anger.
"The word on the street...well....hall is that you got back together with that weirdo,Ethan."
"Look I'm sorry but I don't think it's gonna work out between us. Are we still friends?" Sophie asks.
" Sure...whatever." Matt snapped throwing the death glare at sweet and innocent Sophie and storm off.
"I'll take that as a no." Sophie murmured to herself strolling towards the girls bathroom. When she appeared inside the girls restroom,she squinted at the mirror and took a few more steps to get a closer look. She leaned over the counter to examine her eyes deeper and saw that they became a fainter shade of gold and the sparkle got dimmer. She failed to realize what's happening to her eyes but she successfully knew that her powers are weekening.
