RAIN WAS HEAVILY POURING DOWN FROM THE DARK SKY, leaving anyone who unfortunate enough to be outside completely soaked.
A lone figure was walking down an empty street. Everyone was either at home curled up next to the fireplace for warmth or rushing into buildings to get out of the rain, but this young girl was in no rush to get home, or out of the rain.
She loved the rain, she loved the sound the droplets made when they hit the ground, she loved the feeling of it harshly dropped onto her skin and her hair, she loved every aspect of rain and that would never change.
In her hometown of Forks, Washington it was always raining. Sunshine was a rarity, a fact she definitely wasn't mad about. She didn't like heat, she was all about snow, ice, rain, really just anything that was cold.
It didn't rain very often in California, once in a blue moon, so the second it started raining she left the house and started walking. She didn't bring an umbrella or anything, just put on one of her old heavy rain jackets and walked out the door, she may love the rain, but her skirt costed eighty dollars and she was not going to let it get ruined.
She looked up at the sky, pulling up her hood and trying to use it to block rain from directly falling into her eyes. She couldn't really tell what time it was, she didn't have a watch and unfortunately, she couldn't tell from just glancing up at the sky.
But it was pretty light out when she left and it was dark out now, so that told her she'd been out for probably a while.
She didn't really know how long she'd been out for, but it was probably late enough in the night that her cousins would be freaking out her not being home yet.
She turned saw a pair of car headlights in the distance in front of her, she couldn't tell what direction they were going yet, as they were too far, but she was sure in a few seconds she would find out.
And a few seconds later, the lights got closer, and in barely anytime at all the car was rushing past her, the wheels running into a muddy puddle and splashing dirty water all over her.
"You fucking asshole!" she yelled out, turning around to face the car, but it was already gone. Sure she loved rain and water, but not the overflow from a clogged up sewage pipe filled with lord knows how many diseases and dead animals.
She flipped up the inside of her jacket and used the clean, fuzzy material to wipe her face off. She kept walking as she tried to clean her face, only stopping as she got to a stoplight. She scoffed, "How fucking cliché."
Another car came up behind her, stopping right next to her. She shot a glance at it, before pressing the button for the crosswalk. She leaned against the pole with her arms crossed. The streets may seem deserted, but she wasn't going to take any chances and get run over by someone who decided not to stop at a stop sign.
She glanced at the car again, narrowing her eyes as the passenger side window started to roll down. A head poked out of the window, it was a man, luckily a familiar man or else he would've gotten his ass kicked all the way to hong kong for just trying to speak to her.
"Prim?"
She walked closer to the car, keeping her arms crossed, "Andy!" she grinned and bent down in front of the window.
"What are you doing out here? It's-"
"Raining," she waved him off, "Yeah I can see that."
