TWO: Save yourself

I heard the crowd before seeing it.

My rapidly moving feet slapped the ground as I neared the ground and the bright summer sunlight washed my hazel hair. I was pure fear as the chants grew louder.

"Fight, fight,fight, fight, fight, fight!,fight,fight."

My instincts warned me of something very bad.

The stone bricks under my feet turned to green blades of grass. The chanting was ear popping now. The ground was filled. The seats right on the top were taken.

If it wasn't my brother who was getting beaten up,I would have thought this fight was creating history. Never before has a crowd so big gathered here to witness anything.

I pushed through the heavy mass of people to get to the centre of attraction.

Fight,fight,fight

After a few moments of struggling, I found myself to be a victim of the ruthless cussing from the bystanders.

By the time I made it to a location I could see what was going on, I had a few broken toes and a smushed arm.

Fight,fight,fight

I took in the sight. In the middle were three boys, all tall and muscled with tousled hair and daring eyes—born to look hot, basically.

Among them was my brother. He is slightly smaller than the rest and lacked a good build....but he was okay for a boy.

I had been ready to bet that he would lose this battle, waged for some reason I have yet to find out. But the sight blew my senses.

In the centre was Blake, his body pinned on the floor by...

My brother?!

What the.....

Blake tried to shake him off but Ryan placed his right knee on his chest and his left foot just under his abdomen. Both his hands firmly held Blake to the ground. Ryan was not that strong...how could he have pinned Blake to where he belongs?

That's when I noticed the strange way Ryan's hands were turned while gripping. A little more careful scrutinisation and any person could see that he had twisted Blake's wrists, making him powerless to take a punch.

Smart.

Ryan might be scrawny but he had the brains when it was needed. One of Blake's other friends rushed to tackle Ryan. If I was not wrong, his name was Edward. Edward's hand connected with Ryan's jaw and his grip on Blake was lost.

My heart threatened to break out of its cage as Ryan rolled on to the ground.

What do I do? What can I do? Pointlessly standing here won't do any good! Go get yourself in the game!

I tried to shut that voice down but it kept insisting that I get involved. He was my brother after all.

I stepped forward. No one seemed to notice. I moved two steps into the circle. Surely, I could be clearly noticed now, but everyone's eyes were on the sprawling trio. Blake flung his wrist and Ryan intelligently, though a bit cowardly, retreated to the ground, sitting cross legged on the grass. I saw the few specks of a smile on his radiant but slightly bruised face. What are you doing?!

I needed to stop this. Another boy, Theo, pushed Ryan's head to the ground and stamped on his foot. A low blood curdling groan left his broken mouth.

I couldn't take it anymore.

Taking in a deep breath, I screamed, trying to be louder than the crowd,"STOP, just STOP!"
