Because, you can never break pinkie promises:

-------------------------------------

We did what we always, we tidied our mess and then we left. I shot gunned front seat because I needed to talk to Derek, and the anxiety was built up enough to explode as it is, so any questions had to be asked now before we got home.

We were driving in silence for a few minutes, Justin and Jason had already fallen asleep. I however, was wide awake “So…Go on” I said, stealing a cigarette out of the packet that was in the middle section between the two front seats, lighting it up and opening the window “Go on, about what” Derek asked.

I rolled my eyes and took another drag “Oh I don’t know…what’s the weather like tomorrow?” I asked sarcastically “I think it’s supposed to rain actually but-“ “Derek, shut the fuck up. Now tell me what the fuck was going on” He laughed, but did as I said.

“I was at Joe’s, he told me everything. But he didn’t tell me where” “Wait what? You knew, you knew that your brother would possibly get killed yet you took this long to fucking find us?” I cut him off before he could finish his sentence, I seem to do that a lot when I’m angry.

“No. I had no idea Justin would be there. Only you and Jason” “Nice to know” I replied quietly, nothing like a little love from your soon to be family.

“Anyway…he left, and I went for a drive to cool down. We got in an argument, because he wouldn’t let me come with him. He said he had enough guys and I was fuming. I was driving when my phone called, it was unknown number so I didn’t pick up. It kept ringing and ringing, so eventually I picked up and it was Tate” My eyes widened a little when his name came up.

“He was at the restaurant calling everyone because he was worried. Your cars were there but you weren’t, he obviously tried calling you all but none of you answered. So he went into the restaurant, and there were police there, a lot of them apparently. So then he knew something had happened”

“Where is he now?” I cut him off again, throwing the end of the cigarette out of the window.

“Let me finish” He sighed, running his hands over his face whilst we sat at the red light.

“When Tate said that, I realised why Joe didn’t want me with him. Because he had taken Justin with him as well, I knew the plan so I went to yours. Everyone was there, being held by some guys that I soon figured were friends of Joe’s. I eventually persuaded them with my oh so charming skills, for them to leave as Joe had told me to tell them” “It was that easy?” I asked, there is no way in hell that Derek could have just walked in, told them the deal was off, and they left.

Unless they really were simpletons.

“I guess the others helped. In the end I just distracted them, the others did the rest” He told me.

That sounds more reasonable.

“So where is everyone? Why didn’t they come with you?” I asked. I wanted nothing more than to go home and see everyone, to make sure they were all ok.

“Like I said before, Joe didn’t tell me where he was. So we all split up trying to find you guys. I had nearly gave up when I realised Joe had taken me here before. Told me he was saving this place for a special plan in the future” “Special plan being, trying to break me?” I asked, already knowing the answer “Exactly” Derek replied, turning down our street.

Silence filled the car as Derek had parked up. I turned around to see Jason and Justin still fast asleep. Justin was leaning his head on Jason’s shoulder, and Jason looked more than comfortable with the position they were in. They looked adorable to say the least.
