It's her isn't it?

-------------------------------

"Man I'm pumped" Matt said excitedly from the front of the truck.

After a week of coming up with what to do with Joe Adams, I shyly reminded the guys that he hadn't actually done anything wrong. So our usual tactics of getting rid of him would be far too extreme. Although it was my idea in the first place, I realised that I should say something when we were finalising details at dinner one night, rather than in the middle of the job.

So here we were, driving to Matt's house whilst Joe was away on a job. To wreck the house.

Justin had come up with the idea, smiling at me as he told the guys what he thought. He had come up with it remembering the time I had took him to the abandoned houses to smash them up to let off some steam.

The guys agreed, some reluctant, saying how it was too pussy for us. Until I told them that at least this way, if he does anything else to get on the wrong side of us, we could continue to fuck with him.

-

Matt instructed us to the house, and as soon as we were there he was the first one out. I followed him out as he was pulling his keys out of his pocket "No, we need to make it look like you had nothing to do with this. We gotta break the door down" I told him, motioning for the guys to come over. Jason and Dom took it turns to either kick or barge the door with their shoulder until it was opened "Let's fuck shit up" Matt called, running into the house first with the bat up in the air.

He looked like a kid high on sugar to say the least.

After a while, my breathing started to get erratic so I stopped smashing the living room up. Instead I looked around, trying to slow my heart beat down. I picked up a photo that was on the side and my eyebrows furrowed at the image. Deep down I could swear I had saw this photo before, and it wasn't the one in the paper.

"That's my mom and him" Matt spat, before turning around and continuing what he was doing previously "Matt?" I shouted, waiting for him to run back in the room and stand beside me as I continued to stare at the photo in my hand "Where was your mom? Before she moved to Canada?" I asked "England"

Shit.

I nodded and smiled weakly, walking out of the room and upstairs to find Tate. I didn't understand why I didn't recognise her before when I saw her image in the article we all read, maybe because that had been taken recently, whereas the one in my hands now was a few years back.

"Tate?" "Yeah?" He answered, turning around and walking over to me.

I handed him the photo and he looked at it for a while before looking back up at me.

"This is her isn't it?" I asked, Tate bit his lip before nodding.

"Shall we tell him?" I ask, he looks around the room and both our eyes fall on Matt smashing the windows.

Tate shakes his head "Johnny will be here next week with the guys, leave it between us for now"

I nodded and took the photo, walking back downstairs.

After a while longer, we all come together and looked at our surroundings. My eyes flicked to Matt who was smiling triumphantly "You're not annoyed that you'll have to actually live in this mess?" I ask, his face turning towards me shaking his head "Not at all. I'm going to find my real dad" My eyes widen as I look at Tate, who's face mirrors mine "Right, lets go" I shakily breathe out, leading the others out of the house, not without noticing Justin's jaw clench as he looks between Tate and I.
