This is more to the people who write comments that tell the author that they are wrong with the way they've written something.
For example-I saw a comment thread where someone jumped all over the author because they had mpreg in a werewolf story....seriously? O.o
Werewolves aren't real yet here you go reading a story and applying real human rules to it.
Or a bdsm stories where the author is blasted because the dominant is too soft or the submissive is too hard. Where the dominant isn't the one supposed to get fucked they merely do all the fucking.
2+2 is 4 but so is 8-4 or the square root of 16. Meaning - there is more than one way to do/write something. Not all alien stories need to have earth conquering warlords and not all vampires like killing their dinner. With the exception of grammar and spelling (but not of names/places) there is nothing STANDARD about writing. Unless you're writing non-fiction.
