Chapter 2: Dorms & Mates

Y/n opened the door to her dorm room and was immediately met with a world of plain ivory. Two ivory beds against ivory walls with ivory decorations.

Y/n felt like a speck on a blank canvas with her black nails and bracelets, grey cardigan over a maroon tank top, dark wash jeans, and thick eye liner. (She's not like other girls😉)

In one corner was an ivory desk and standing in front of it was a girl who must have been y/n's roommate. She didn't notice her at first, due to her ivory button down shirt and beige slacks blending in with the aura of the room.

"Hey, um..." y/n started as she put her stuff down on the empty bed. "You must be Kimmy Jen, I'm y/n."

Kimmy just looked at her with a confused and disgusted face.

"N-no English?" y/n asked.

Still no reply.

"Yes English?. . . . Just, tell me where you're at with English..."

Somewhere across the building, the boy who y/n had seen singing in the car earlier, Finn Wolfhard, entered his dorm which was anything but plain.

He dropped his bag on the first bed he saw as soon as he stepped through the door.

He then looked up and his jaw dropped as his eyes were met with a shrine of Star Wars merch on the other half of the room. Admiring it stood a curly headed boy wearing a black silk cape that reached down to his feet.

The boy turned around to face Finn.

"There he is," he said with a smile. "I'm Gaten, you must be Finn." Gaten took a step forward towards Finn and reached out his hand.

"And you must be kidding," Finn replied jokingly as he shook Gaten's hand, still in awe of the Star Wars theme he had given their room. "Wow!" Finn said as he walked toward the shrine to admire it closer.

"Looking at it now, I can see that it's a bit much. I can take it down," Gaten offered.

"Nah, no way! I mean it took a second for my eyes to adjust but I can roll with this," Finn said with a shrug.

"Look, just so you know I'm not a total nerd," Gaten informed. "I also happen to be super into close up magic!" He then reached into his cape and pulled out a small, brown gerble. The creature began to crawl around his palms and wrists.

"Dude that's awesome. . ." Finn said. Gaten smiled proudly as he began to pet the gerble. "How long was that little guy in there?"

"Several days."
