The next day I woke up around 3. I got up and put my blankets and pillows in the cubby. Once I was done I put my outfit that Lin gave me on then tip toed out of the room so that I wouldn't wake anyone up and headed to Kamajis boiler room to get my shoes. I also wondered why I left them there. Once I got there I saw Kamaji already working but then I averted my eyes to a sleeping Haku. "Well hello Kamaji." I said. "Oh hi Se-Chihiro, What are you doing up?" He said. "Oh. I...Uh... Came to get my shoes. I was going to go for a small walk. Hey why is Haku sleeping here? I thought he had his own room." I said pointing at him. "Oh. Well being Yubabas hench man meant he slept on the top floor in his own room but when he quit she kicked him out and now he sleeps here." He explained. "Oh. That makes sense." I replied. I walked over to were the soot balls were. They seemed to working ten times harder then the last time I was here. The one soot ball fell -.- like the last time. I picked up the rock so the soot ball could get out. But the soot ball left and got another. "Finish what you started." Kamaji said. "But you know what will happen." I replied. "Then make sure it doesn't." I walked over to the pit through the rock in and walked back to the step.
Then the soot balls stopped and like the last time they started piling up and tried to get me to do there job. "Stop. Please. AHH!." I ended up falling backwards ontop of... Uh..Oh.... I fell on a sleeping- Well now awakening- Haku. I looked at Haku and saw his eyes flutter open. "Um... Morning." I said very awkwardly. I probably looked like a tomato. "OKAY! YOU PIECES OF SOOT! GET BACK TO WORK!" I heard Kamaji yell. We both looked at the soot balls and they made grunting noises and headed back to work. I didn't notice Haku wasn't wearing a shirt until I was staring. Man has he gotten a nice body. I looked away fast while blushing madly. "Um. Sorry about that. The soot balls made me fall over." I said getting off of Haku and sitting beside him and looking at him."It's okay. I don't mind. It was just an accident. What are you doing down here anyways?" He asked. "Oh. I came down here to get my shoes so I could go for a walk." I said. "You know you can't go anywhere without me or else Yubaba will turn you into a pig, know matter what." he said with concern. "I know but I just have so much on my mind that I needed some time to think. I'm sorry." I said looking in lap playing with my thumbs. "Why are you sorry? It isn't that big of a deal. It's just I don't want you to turn into a pig." He said putting a hand on my shoulder and smiling at me. I don't think I've ever seen Haku actually smile. "So, do you still want to go on that walk?" He asks. I just nod.
Once I got my shoes from the soot balls, Haku and I head down to the bridge. "So, what is it that's been troubling you?" Haku asks. "Everything." I reply looking into the water. "What do you mean?" "It's just. I don't know what to do. I want to stay here but I know that can't happen because my parents will get worried and come looking for me, and I also need to go home if I want to finish school. But...But...But I just can't I would miss all of you. Including you Haku. I can't leave you guys." I said sobbing. Haku puts his arms around me and just rubs my back gently. "I just can't leave you Haku." I say quit enough so he doesn't hear. Haku lifts my chin up so that me and him are just staring into each others eyes. I see his eyes avert to my lips then back at me then down at my lips again. And I see me and him come closer together, until...
