Part 9

Myungsoo POV

When she said she was going to bring me to her house for dinner, I was expecting a cute little three maybe four bedroom house in a quiet little neighborhood like you see in the movies. What I was not expecting, was this massive mansion she brought me to. I counted at least three floors from the outside and there has to be at minimum twelve bedrooms. 

"So, what do you think?" Chris asked me as he came down the stairs.

"Huh?" I was dumbfounded.

Chris smiled at me and asked again "What do you think of the house?"

"House?" It came out as mostly shock rather than a question. "You call this a house?"

Chris chuckled "What else would you call the place you grew up in?"

I nodded in a daze.

Suddenly, he was right next to me. "Want me to give you the tour? I can show you Phoebe's childhood photo albums" he whispered in my ear.

I perked up. "Phoebe as a child?" I could imagine a little Phoebe smiling like she always does. Then a thought suddenly struck me and I quickly looked at him "What's the deal? Why you being nice all of a sudden? You trying to get me in trouble?"

Chris laughed. "Nope! I'm cool with the two of you dating. I figure you've mentally tortured yourself already, so I didn't need to put the fear of death in you. Plus, you know I'll write a great article if you break my sister's heart." He patted me hard on the back causing me to cough.

"Supper is ready!" June called from the dinning room entrance.

"You must be hungry after that long flight. Let's eat and then I can show you where you will be staying" Chris said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Right" I nodded. Note to self; Don't get on her brother's bad side.

Phoebe_POV

It was nice seeing Chris happily chatting with Myungsoo. After dinner, We brought Myungsoo up to the room he would be using.

"This is your room" I said as I opened the door.

"Wow!" he gasped in awe. He slowly made his way around the room taking everything in, then looked at me and asked "If this is my room, what's yours like?"

"You will not be seeing her room any time soon" Chris spoke authoritatively.

"Right!" Myungsoo saluted him.

"Ya!" I hit my brother's arm. "Don't listen to him, Myungsoo. I'll show you my room tomorrow. You still need to get the pictures for the contest after all" I smiled at him.

He nervously looked at my brother and asked "Is that really okay?"

"Don't worry about my brother" I said.

He nodded "Okay."

"Get some rest" I smiled brightly. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Good night Phoebe!" he pulled me towards him and hugged me.

I rested my head on his chest and said "Good night Myungsoo."

We stood there for a few minutes holding each other, until we heard my brother cough to clear his throat. 

At the sound, we both awkwardly separated and looked at each other embarrassed. 

"Night!" we both said as I quickly turned around and rushed out of the room.

Myungsoo_POV

I couldn't help but blush because of the situation.

"Like I said before" Chris suddenly spoke, jolting me back to my senses. "If you hurt her in any way, I will make sure you pay the price." I stood frozen in shock until he started chuckling. He patted me on the shoulder and said "Loosen up a bit and relax. I'm only joking!"

I released a breath I didn't even know I'd been holding. "It's not funny!" I complained.

"Myungsoo" he spoke more seriously as he leaned against the wall. "I know that I'm a bit overprotective of Phoebe" he sighed "but that is only because she is the only family I have left." I was surprised by his sudden confession. He looked me in the eyes and said "I'm not blind. I can see how much the two of you care for each other. I'm just worried that she is going to get hurt and I really don't want to see that happen."

After having him confess like this, I couldn't just stand here and say nothing. "I know how much you love your sister" I said as I leaned against the wall next to him. "She talks about you all the time." I smiled a little "I'm not just playing around with her. I'm serious about our relationship. I know that there will be a lot of hurdles that we will have to overcome, but I'm dating Phoebe with the intent to marry her in the future."

Chris looked at me in shock. "You... marry..."

I turned to face him and smiled. "There is a long way to go before we are ready for that step, but I hope that when the time comes, you will give us your blessings" I said and then bowed to him.

He coughed a bit to regain his composure after being completely shocked out of his senses by my confession. He patted me on the shoulder, causing me to look up at him, and said "Phoebe really found herself a great man. I'm going to hold you to your word." Then he smiled and said "I'll be waiting for the day you come to ask for her hand."
