Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.

"Avery..." Tyler warned, giving me a side ways glance from where he sat on the ground. I sighed and ceased drumming my nails on the wooden bench I was sitting on. I looked back out the rain streaked window at the flooded streets. For once, I hate the rain. I thought to myself. I glancedover at Tyler who was sitting by the hotel door, and carving random patterns into the door with a switchblade he took from his pocket.

"Avery..You're doing it again."

"No I'm...oh.." I mumbled, looking down at my drumming fingers again. I glanced over at the clock that hung on the wall. Five in the morning? You mean its only been an hour? I groaned quietly and banged the side of my head against the window. The hotel clerk was right when he told us not to come out of the rooms until eight. I had woken up to booming laughter and slurred words in the middle of the night. Tyler had been sitting by the door holding his switch blade. 'Just in case' he had said. The noise still hadn't quieted down and occasionally someone would come banging at the door.

"Tyler. I'm hungry." I complained, placing my hands over my growling stomach. "Ya I know I am too. But we can't go out there. It's not just drunks here Ave, this hotel is pretty much a safe house for gangs. Lotta gang fights happen here, murders too. There's even a fighting ring and a bar in the basement."

"Then why the fudge did we have to pick this hotel?" I asked, smacking myself in the head when I realized just how stupid that question was. We didn't have a freaking choice. The damn car broke down.

"Wait. How do you know there's a fighting ring in the basement?" I questioned. I turned to face him and sat indian style with my head restingon my fist. He turned his head away from his carvings on the wall and stared at me. He seemed to be fighting with himself over something. "Well?" I pressed on.

"Iv'e been here before." He deadpanned, and continued working on his carvings. I sighed. "You're so boring..." I mumbled. I got up and belly flopped onto my bed. I lifted my head from the pillows and looked at him. He was completely ignoring me and solely working on the carvings on the wall. "You know if you get caught you're gonna have to pay to fix that." I warned him wile pressing my face back into the soft pillows. I peeked out at him when I didn't get an answer to see him giving me the 'are-you-f*cking-kidding-me ' look. I rolled my eyes and rolled over so I was starring up at the ceiling

Tick. Toc. Tick. Toc.

"I'm so bored!! Gah!" I yelled as loud as I could, throwing my hands up in the air and making Tylerjolt.

"Will you ever shut up?" He asked me annoyed. My stomach growled loudly and he chuckled. "Okay. You stay here understand me?" He said sternly wile getting up and reaching for the door knob. I got up and ran to him in a panic. "No! No! Don't leave! You can't leave!" I yelled at him, grabbing his hand and pulling him away from the door. He chuckled and pushed my away. "Do not leave this room. Got it?" He ordered and walked out the door, shutting it behind him.

I stared at the door for a minute before throwing myself on the bed. "Gah! I hate him!" I yelled into the pillow. He's so frustrating! Oh common you like him. No. Yea. No. You so do. I sighed into the pillow and turned around onto my back, still clutching the pillow.

"Great now I'm having conversations with myself in my head. And now I'm talking to myself! Why do I always do this? I don't know. God I'm doing it again..." I laughed quietly to myself. Suddenly, another persons laugh joined in with me. I screamed and sat up, throwing the pillow in the direction of the voice.
