I Can Hear Them Calling

Beep...Beep...Beep...Beep...Beep...

The only sounds in the hospital room are the heart rate monitor and life support machines, the Haim family are standing at the foot of the bed, afraid to move or speak,

Becky, Danielle's nurse has made sure there are enough chairs for everyone, she places her hand gently on Alana's shoulder,

"You can hold her hand if you like," She said before looking towards Mrs. Haim, "I'm going to give you some privacy but I'll just be out at the nurse's station should you need anything."

Alana wants to go hold her sister's hand but is too afraid she might hurt her and so she remains standing at the foot of the bed just staring at Danielle's unconscious body. 

Este is the first to move, she walks to the side of the bed and leans down and gently kisses Danielle's forehead, she whispers next to Danielle's ear,

"I love you Sissy, you have to stay strong, please don't die Yelly." She wipes the tears from her eyes and sits down on one of the chairs, 

Donna puts her arm around Alana and together they walk around to the other side of the bed, Alana sits down and ever so gently takes hold of Danielle's warm limp hand,

"Oh my baby girl," Donna cries kissing Danielle's cheek before sitting down.

"She'll wake up soon won't she Mom?" Alana nervously asks,

Donna trys to remain positive for Alana just nods before hugging her youngest daughter.

Este clears her throat, "Dad why don't you come sit down."

Moti who has been staring at his middle daughter comes out of his trance,

"Ah what? Ah no...no I ah, I um no I need to um go check the ah, I'll be back." Moti said before he quickly leaves the room,

"Dad...DAD." Este yells,

"It's okay honey let your father be." Donna says,

"But he...he didn't even give D a kiss Mom." Este replies as her tears break free and fall down her face.
