Chapter 9

Namiko POV

THREE DAYS LATER...

After the doctor announced that Miliano was in a minor coma, I've been by his side ever since. I climbed in his hospital bed lying next to his tranquil body. The pulsating noise of the heart monitor put me into a trance close to sleep. I hadn't really slept since he was shot. I was afraid I would miss the moment he woke up and the nightmare ends. Just as I was close to being in a deep sleep his mother walked through the door of the private room.

"Hey sweetie" she greeted me with a smile. I tried to pull my frown the same way her mouth was but I failed because I had been crying for Miliano to wake up. I simply just waved back as a reply.

"Nami, you need to keep your head up. I'm sure Mili doesn't want you crying over him, baby. Oh, I've been meaning to tell you that my boy really loves you well cares about you rather. He hasn't really loved anyone since... I'll just let him tell you that. I just came by to drop these flowers off and I should get going. See you later honey." She hugged me then left.

The rest of the night I couldn't help but to think about what she meant by him not loving anyone. I eventually laid down and rested my eyes.

THE NEXT DAY...

When I woke up my eyes met Miliano's. At that moment, my heart skipped a few beats. I frantically made my way to his side and rested a tender hand on his cheek. Tears began streaming uncontrollably down my face, but I didn't try to hide them of wild them away. "Is this real?" I asked him in a shaky voice. "Is this a dream?"

"No baby. This ain't no dream." That was all the confirmation I needed. His eyes twinkled with the same amusement as they had before. He was awake. Everything was going to be okay. I took that moment to crash my lips onto his in an earth shattering kiss. His heart rate began increasing rapidly and the monitor beeped loudly. He didn't seem to notice the loud beeping as he grabbed handfuls of my tangled locks. "I need you Nami." He breathed huskily into my ear. I didn't have to say the same for him to do that I agreed.

"Alrighty kiddies break it up." The nurse interrupted us. "Before you give the boy a heart-attack sweetie. Patients where complaining about the noise the heart monitor was keeping in here. Keep it safe. He just woke up from a coma after all."
