~ Zurie's POV ~~

        

I look in the mirror disgusted. Omg I'm getting so fat.... I walk out of the bathroom into the living-room just when Alex comes in. "Hey babe..." He says and puts his computer bag on the floor and flops down on the couch. "Alex....do you think I've gained weight...?" He looks at me from head to toe. "Do you want me to be honest?" He says. I frown..."Please." He sits up and looks into my eyes, "Yes, but you know...I like some meat on my bones." I smile weakly and hesitate. I run to the bathroom covering my mouth.

Alex: ??

"You ok??" He says in a concerned tone of voice. Let's just say that my lunch came back. I slowly walk back into the living-room and nod, wiping my face with a cold, wet rag. "Did you not fully cook your lunch or something?" he asks. I shrug. What's wrong with me? I sit on the couch next to him and he wraps his arm around my shoulder. "Want to watch some good ol' Office?" I say and look at him with the remote in my hand. He grins, "You bet I do!" We watch about 5 episodes and I get up. "I'm going to go make some popcorn, I'll be right back," I say setting down the remote. "Don't unpause it!" I say jokingly. I walk into the kitchen until my stomach starts churning again. I run back into the bathroom and throw up.

*6 minutes later*

"Zurie?" I hear Alex from the living-room but I can't control myself..I stay in the bathroom. Alex waits a minute. "Zurie?   .....you ok?" I can't answer but I kick the bathroom door to get his attention. I hear him running over to me. He opens the bathroom door. "I'm taking you to the doctor." My eyes widen. I HATE the doctor. "No, no! I'm fine!" I lean back over the trash can. He puts his hand on my back. "No, you're not. You're involuntarily and uncontrollably throwing up. You're going." He leaves for a minute and comes back with some Pepto. He forces it into my mouth and picks me up.

       He carries me to the car and buckles me up. He hands me a miniature trash can and books it the doctor. Once we arrive, he drags me inside and signs a paper. We wait for about 20 minutes until the doctor calls for us. "Alright...Miss...?"The doc says organizing his papers. "Zu-" "Zurie, sir," Alex interrupts. He looks up at Alex. "And you are...?" "I am her fionce, Alex." "Any last name si-" He adds and Alex interrupts again. "No, just Alex.." Doc questionably looks at Alex and then at me. "So..what's the problem here?" I'm about to speak until my food comes back. I sprint to the trash can which is in the corner. "Oh..I see... Ma'am, have you been doing anything in particular with your fionce in the last...4-5 months..?" I look at him with a strange look and cock my head to the side, "What 'particular things'?" He scans my body with his eyes very quickly and bluntly states, "Miss, I believe you may be pregnant." "WHAT??" I almost faint but he holds me up. "There's no way!" Alex says in denial and protest. "Now hold it, I didn't say you were. But you need to go to the hospital so they can run a few tests," He says trying to reassure us. "B-bu-but she...she can't be.." Alex keeps muttering.

*20 minutes later*

    We leave the doctor's office and get in the car. "Can we go home now?" I say in a desperate voice. "We're going to the hospital! *mutters* I'm not ready to be a dad..." We go to the hospital which is directly in the center of 3 territories: werewolf, vampire, zombie. We go to the vampire department and schedule an immediate appointment.

"Mr. and Ms. Ivory?" A nurse says with a smile on her face. She calls us in a small room with a machine in it. "Sir, would you like to stay in here for the test or wait for the results in the waiting room?" She asks Alex. He stutters and fidgets with his fingers. "I- I'll go in the w-waiting room.." He excuses himself and walks out quietly. She runs the tests on me and 20 minutes later she calls Alex in.. We both wait in anticipation. Alex staggers in nervously, sweat dripping from his face. He sits down in a chair beside me and we hold each others hands and watch the nurse grab the results. "Mr. and Ms. Ivory..." She begins. "I'd like to tell you...that-" I bury my face in Alex's chest and plug one of my ears. "- that you are indeed going to be a mommy and daddy! Congratulations guys!" I get off of Alex and hug the nurse. "th-thank you Miss!" I then make my way to the trash can. Next thing I hear is a loud thump. I turn around and Alex has fainted. "Ma'am I will be right back," the nurse informs me. She comes back with ice water and splashes a little bit at a time on Alex's face. He regains consciousness and him and I are about to head out when she stops us. "Excuse me but I have something important to say first.." I sigh and sit back down and so does Alex.

     "Miss, your baby is not full-blooded vampire." My eyes widen in shock and Alex looks over at me angrily. "ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME?!" He's gets out of his chair and comes towards me. I huddle up and shield my face. "SIR! Sit back down!" The nurse grabs his arm and forces him back into his seat. "Allow me to finish. The DNA records reveal that the baby is half werewolf. And more specifically, the alpha's son who is now DEAD." Alex stares at me. "Care to explain??" I start blacking out and I have a flashback.

( FLASHBACK:

Zurie laughs and smiles and follows Luca into the private den.

Luca playfully pounces on me and pins me down. "Heh heh...Wh-what are you doing??" I ask nervously. He looks at me and smiles. "What I want to.."

END FLASHBACK)

"AAAH!!!!" I shoot up and I'm in my bed at home. "W-what..? Was that all a bad dream...?" Alex runs in. "Are you ok??" he asks putting his hand on my forehead to check the temperature. I start to cry. "Ooohh Alex!! I had this horrible dream! I got pregnant by Luca and you hated me!! The nurse told us while we were in a hospital...a-a-and ohh!!" I keep crying and I feel him hug me. He holds my chin up and looks me in the eye. "Zurie...that wasn't a dream...." I rip the blankets out from under him and hide under them. I cry even harder. "Zurie...I don't hate you though.." He goes under the covers with me and tries to find me. "Zurie.." I feel him grab my ankle and he drags me out from under the covers. "No! You hate me!" "Shh shh no I don't...We need to have a plan for this baby though...okay?" I wipe my eyes and nod. "o-okay..."

~Narrator speaking (not a POV)~~

Just then the doorbell rings. Alex lets go of Zurie and walks to the front door. He opens the door and no one is there...He shuts the door but opens it again immediately. He picks up a mysterious letter and opens it. It says:

Alex Ivory and soon-to-be Zurie Ivory,

I know about that baby. I know about how it's half vamp and half werewolf. If

you don't surrender it to me you're DEAD. It's going to be the strongest and most elite creature 

in the 3 districts. It shall be our representative in the army. Keep in mind that mixed monster

children are illegal...so always think of this as a little subtle reminder.

He finished reading it and immediately shut the door and locked it. Whoever wrote that letter was already watching their every move. He locked all of the windows and doors and burnt the letter. They soon received letters like these 2-3 times a week. They last one they received was 2 months later and it said:

Mr. and Mrs. Ivory,

Give. Up. You will lose. Take our advice or you will pay. Meet us at exactly 3:33 AM at the ZHP.

Here's the address. Don't let us down.
