It was time. Kyra just turned five. Her hair had grown a lot by now. Zurie was worried sick about her. It was the day before the first day of school. The last things she told Kyra as she gently and lovingly tucked her in her bed was, "If the kids say anything mean about you in school tomorrow, tell them that you have two territories on your side. Got it, girlie?" Kyra nodded. "Yes momma. Goodnight I love you and daddy." Zurie smiles, "We love you too, honey.." With that, she turns off the light and shuts the door, leaving a small crack for light. Zurie walked downstairs to the living room and sat beside Alex. She sighed and laid her head on his shoulder. "Alex..I'm scared." He looked down at her. "Don't be scared, honey..It's going to be fine. If anything, the kids will think she's cool for being two types of monsters.." Zurie tries to agree. "I think it's just my mom-instinct kicking in." She said halfway joking. Alex smiled at her and slowly got up off the couch. "Well. I'm going to bed. I've got work tomorrow. Night, love you," He says walking out of the room and towards the staircase.
Zurie waits a few minutes and heads upstairs too. Before going to bed she checks one last time on Kyra, and she was sound asleep._______________________
The next morning.
Finally the day is here. Zurie wakes up at 6PM to get ready and cook breakfast. She cooks for Alex and Kyra and for herself last. After she is ready and food is ready, she goes upstairs to wake them both. First she heads into her bedroom. She silently tiptoes over to Alex's side of the bed and slowly pulls the blanket off of him. "Waaaake up! I made breakfast!" He stretches for a few minutes and finally gets up. He goes downstairs and fixes everyone's plate. Meanwhile, Zurie wakes up Kyra. She silently walks in, gently pats Kyra on the back and says, "Wake up princess, it's your first day of schooool!" She excitedly bolts up and smells the breakfast. She speedily runs downstairs and grabs her plate and sits down on the couch. Zurie comes following slowly after her. She giggles at the sight of Alex and Kyra eagerly eating their food, then she gets her and begins to dig in. Once Alex is done, he gets up after playfully rubbing Kyra's hair to mess it up even worse, then he goes over to the kitchen sink and washes his plate. He goes upstairs to finish getting ready, and Kyra starts a nice mother-daughter conversation.
"Momma?"
"Yes, Kyra?"
"Will you show me how to cook?"
Zurie smiles. "Of course. How about after school, does that sound ok to you?"
Kyra nods and finishes eating. She cleans off her plate completely, even to the extent of licking it. Zurie reminds her to put it in the sink, then Zurie goes upstairs to help Kyra get ready. While Zurie is dressing Kyra, Alex walks in to say goodbye.
"Goodbye, honey. I'll see you after while," he says hugging Zurie. He turns to Kyra. "Goodbye my little angel, I hope you have a good first day at school," He says hugging her and smiling. He walks out and Kyra yells after him, "Bye daddy!!" Zurie smiles and finishes dressing Kyra. She brushes her hair and teeth then brushes her own. They're finally ready. Kyra especially. Her eyes changed blue as she was getting hyper heading towards the car.
Zurie buckled Kyra up in the car seat, then buckled herself. She then drove off and headed to school. On the way, Zurie started getting emotional. She stared crying and had to pull over for a minute.
"Are you ok mommy?" Kyra sweetly asks.
"Yes dear, I'm fine. Sorry if I scared you." Zurie continues driving to school and they finally arrive.

In the classroom.
Before leaving, Zurie told the teacher about Kyra's special needs.
"And don't let her touch anything silver!" She finished, being led out by the principal. I hope she'll be ok, she thinks as she's walking towards the car. She should be. Should. Maybe just check one more time? No...She forces herself to drive away as Kyra is left in confusion, not knowing at all how school works.

Later in school..
"Alright class, who knows what 2 plus 2 is?"
Kyra raises her hand along with only two others.
"Kyra?"
"4. Duh!"
The teacher was shocked by the amount of pure sass a five year old could put forth. She shrugs it off and congratulated her on the correct answer. "That's right, Kyra! Aren't you so smart?" Kyra nods sarcastically and telepathically speaks to the teacher.
Kyra: These are too easy, do you mind??
Teacher: wait, w-what? How are you d-doing this?
Kyra: Change. The. Subject. The teacher, being too freaked out, does indeed change the subject to a harder type of math.
Teacher: *telepathically* Does 7th grade math seem ok to you?
Kyra: Harder. Go harder.
Teacher: you sure? Prove to me that you can even do a math that's 7 years ahead.
Kyra: *sarcastically* Ok then give me a problem.
Teacher: ok um...
Kyra: I'm waiting..
Teacher: evaluate...x•y-34 If x=....if x equals....35 and y= 4.
Kyra: Ok. 106.The teachers pulls out a calculator. Astonished, the calculator does indeed say that the answer is 106.

The end of the school day.
Zurie gets to the school earlier than any other parent. Luckily, the teacher had to speak with her anyways.
"Mrs. Ivory, I need to speak to you about your daughter," She said. Zurie gave a questioning look at Kyra before stepping into the office with the teacher. "Is something wrong? Is she getting bullied? Is she bullying? Did she get in trouble? What about-" The teacher interrupts her. "Ma'am. It's none of those. Your daughter is an absolute genius for her age. She can do harder math than math that's already 7 years ahead." Zurie was shocked. "Wow.." She said without thinking. "But there is one more thing," the teacher stated. "How can she talk telepathically??" Zurie's face went from a smile to a straight face in a second. She never even told the teacher, she just told the principal. "Uuum..she's uh...she's...not fully vampire...ma'am.." she confesses at last.
"WHAT?" The teacher responds in utter disbelief. "This isn't...th-this is ok!!" She stutters. Zurie nods, having heard this thousands of times before. "Yeah..I freaking know." The teacher looks at Zurie, disgusted. "She..s-she can't come here..n-no...that..that's not allowed here, no way..that'll scare the other kids," The teacher spits out. "But they weren't scared earlier," Zurie protests. "That's irrelevant..she's banned from this primary school!" She says at least. "But that's not-!" The teacher cuts her off and leads them out of the building. Well this sucks. Never-freaking-mind about kindergarten worries then. There is no kindergarten anymore. Zurie said she would do homeschool but that's too much work, considering she already has a job...well.. 'guess she'll just stay home until middle school starts. They'll teach her the basic stuff.
