Kyra was growing way too fast. She was already 13 now, and had earned 3 black belts in karate in her classes she had just started 2 months ago. She already had surpassed Alex's strengths and abilities, along with Zurie's. But there was a problem. Middle school. Something we all have gone through and we all hated..for the most part anyways. Kyra wasn't ready. She liked being home with her pet pug and coloring all day. She wasn't incompetent in anything. She was in fact, still a genius. She liked being antisocial and she didn't need any friends except for her pets. She saw no need for school. But the government was making her. At least it was still summer though. She had a few months. It started in September..sadly. So far Kyra had grown up into a beautiful young lady. But Zurie still feared she'd be bullied at the public middle school. Alex knew she could take care of herself though. And so did Rolls, her pug. Kyra had developed a love for animals, and in fact hardly ever ate meat. She was a strange one that's for sure.
In the past years Alex and Zurie has become good friends with Luna. And the government was a little bit more lenient on the territories never hanging out with each other. But it was still illegal to have mixed monster children. It was also still usually socially unacceptable to hang out with other monsters. It wasn't illegal, just unacceptable. Zurie had taken Kyra to the Seventh Station that summer. Where Kyra met new friends. Skylar, a white-furred she-wolf from Luna's hometown,  Vance, a charming guy vampire from Redwood on the other side of the college, and lastly Jessica, a lucky zombie who escaped the ZHP. They were all known as a scandalous group who always caused trouble. But that was just fine with them. They were all weird. They all had some random thing about them that made them different from their own kind. Jessica could communicate with ghosts at cemeteries. Vance, could trick anyone, even geniuses. And Skylar? She could camouflage in anything you could imagine! Thankfully, at least Skylar was going to the new middle school with Kyra. They both didn't want to go, but they both had to.
They continued meeting up at the Seventh Station that summer. They all agreed that when school started, they'd all meet there after school everyday. The Seventh Station had truly become an important place for them.
One day they went to Jessica's house. They went swimming in her lake, and they played fun made-up games all night long. It was about 1PM when they all got home..and of course their parents were mad. They really were rebellious weren't they?
Another time, they thought it'd be a good idea to vandalize some property of their stingy neighbors. Vance spray painted on Kyra's neighbor's shed, Jessica broke Skylar's neighbor's porch, Skylar ate Jessica's neighbor's parrot, and Kyra poured acid over Vance's neighbor's door handle. They were becoming known as the most rebellious group of teens in the district. Their parents soon had to go to court though, become the neighbors wanted to sue them all. They lost the case thankfully, but there were still consequences for the friends. The consequence was..school. School was already here. That fast. Of course there were other punishments but school was the worst. Two days before school started Kyra and Skylar got together one last time before they might be in separate classes.
When the day had finally come, Zurie decided that as another punishment, Kyra was to walk to school. Skylar's mother did the same. "Have a good first day sweetie!" Zurie called out as Kyra walked out the door. "Bye mom." She replied as she slammed the door shut. On her way to school she facetimed Skylar.

Kyra: what's up?
Skylar: Nothing much..going to school literally makes me want to die. Please kill me.
Kyra: No can do, kiddo. You're too good of a friend..and besides. I can't go through this torture alone.
Skylar: I feel so loved. Hey I love your hair by the way. It's nice.
Kyra: Really? Oh uh...thanks.

Skylar: No problem! The color's pretty, and everything

Skylar: No problem! The color's pretty, and everything...then there I am with my lame hair.
Kyra: Oh come on, it'd be so cool to have silver hair like yours!
Skylar: Oh shut up you're just being nice because I said something about your hair.
Kyra: Not really I actually like your-
Skylar: Ok I'm here I gotta go, see you there.
Kyra: Bye!
Skylar: Bye

Call ended.

Kyra sees Skylar sprinting into the school. She chases after her and catches up with ease. "Hey there, fart face," She says jokingly. To which Skylar responds, "Hey there, pea-brain." They both giggle and get to class. Once they get in there it already smells like death from the disgusting candle the teacher has lit. When they walk in all eyes are on them. They weren't late..so what gives?

Kyra's POV

We walk in and everyone's staring at us. Me and Skylar find seats and sit next to each other. We talk until the bell rings and the teacher tells us which classes we're in. "Ok class, I am Mr. Crimson, and I am the home room teacher of 8th grade class A. I am also the biology teacher for 8A, C, and E." I look at Skylar and she looks back at me.

"I hope we're both in the same class.." I tell her through my mind. She nods and pays her attention back to Mr. Crimson. "First, I will be announcing everyone's class," He starts off. I cross my fingers, toes, arms, legs, anything I can. "For 8A, we have Alissa Johnson, Thomas Kurts, Melanie Arnold, Seth Armstrong, Aubrey Holts, and Keaton Hays." I sigh out of relief and look at Skylar. She seems nervous too. Mr. Crimson keeps calling out names, "For class 8B we have Vanessa Hardin, Charlie James, Ella Harrison, Mikey Swiss, William Barnett, and Kyra Ivory." Nooo! I'm in a stupid separate class!! Skylar taps me on the shoulder and I look at her. "This year will be freaking great," she tells me. I nod sarcastically. Mr. Crimson gets all the way to class 8E until he mentions Skylar. "And finally for class 8E.. Avery Maddison, Autumn Blackstone, Skylar Tidwell, Kacey Jones, Philip Kent, and Jeremy Dolan. Now that all classes are done being indemnified, I'd like for 8B and 8E to go to history, 8A stay in here for biology, 8C go to PE, and 8D go to English. Thank you." Well at least we have our first class together. We walk to history together and the teachers introduces herself. "Hello class my name name is Mrs. Holland and I expect the highest respect out of you 8th graders. Not just for me, but to your classmates as well. Got it?" We all say yes ma'am as class immediately begins.

Lunch time: 11:15 PM

We go to lunch and we're (thankfully) allowed to sit wherever we want. Of course I sit by Skylar, and that Autumn girl in her class sits by us too. She seemed pretty nice, but she was really shy. Skylar orders her lunch and comes back with her food. Autumn and I were having a nice conversation about pets. "So, how's biology? I have it next," Skylar says with her mouth full. "Eh..pretty easy actually it's just basic anatomy and physiology of monsters in our district," I respond. She nods her head and swallows her food. "So basically physiology and anatomy of zombies, werewolves, and vamps?" I nod and take another bite of my food. Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering for any strange reason, Autumn is a she-wolf.
"Hey, I'll be right back," I say as I push in my chair and slip through crowds of talking teachers. I go to get a drink from the vending machine. I come back and sit down, already halfway done with it. "Kyra, chill," Skylar says jokingly. Autumn awkwardly chuckles. "Hey...where's my lunch??" I say as I notice my lunch is missing (a very delayed reaction). Skylar shrugs. I stand up and look under the table. I then see it. My lunch was with that Avery girl from class 8E. She stole it! I walk over to her. "Pardon me but that's my lunch," I say passively aggressively. "Oh it is? I'm so sorry about that! Here ya go!" She holds it out, and just as I'm about to take it back she slams it on the floor. "Hey! You're paying me for another lunch!" I try to clean it up. She laughs, "Says who?" "ME." I respond back. She seemed a little intimidated but not enough. "Yeah I'm not wasting my lunch money on you, loser." She says in her annoying voice. Ug, she's so obnoxious..I feel bad that Skylar has to be in the same class with her. "Well then, I guess I'll take your lunch," I say grabbing her lunch box. I walk back to my seat and she starts following me. "Give me back my lunchbox you jerk!" I laugh and wave it around her face, "oh! Thiiiis one?" Skylar and Autumn laugh. "Hey! Give it back!" She kept jumping up and down for it. It was amusing, I'll tell you that. "I'll give it back once you buy me a lunch," I bribe. "Never!" She rudely refuses. I bluntly respond, "Well I guess you're not getting it back, then.."

Oooh Kyra has some beef with Avery. Stay tuned for the next chapter coming soon 👌
