Chapter 19- First Date (Finely!!)

Jessie P.O.V

                We’ve been back home for a few days now. Apollo expanded on the cave a little to make me a room so I’d feel comfortable. Apollo and Mason both were surprised that someone I trusted so closely would do that.  Apollo’s long silence after my story made me feel un-easy. So I asked him what’s wrong, and this is what I got.

Apollo P.O.V

~Flash back~

“When will you learn Heatris that Victoria is not a toy, she is our daughter!”

“Apollo, she is our daughter, if I made a better choice with fathers she might have been born with powers. If Ezekiel (Jessie’s Dad) didn’t have a child with Tamari (Jessie’s Mom) I could have had a real child. A child I wanted! Instead I settled with you! Of course she’s half vampire with amazing mind control abilities, but I want more!”

“Your power mad Heatris!”

“Maybe… I am.” ~End~

“Heatris found prophecies about humans with connections with vampires. A very small amount of humans can tolerate such a powerful vampire’s blood in their systems. It will either change them, or kill them. Mason is one of those humans. She wants him to be blooded by her then mate with our daughter. They will create the perfect monster. Then once Jessie got in the picture her plans changed completely. Jessie someone of royal blood, has a very distinguished bloodline. One of which has always been lethal to anyone that means harm. Although they were strong, some of the family broke away and chose to fight for the dark. A very small group of your family; wants to rule over all humans.”

“How can I help her, I won’t help her rule over humans.”

“You don’t have to agree. She is someone of great power. All she needs is one rouge from your family to turn you into a full vampire. Once you change, you are weak until your first feed. While you are defenseless she will drain you of your life force and powers. From there our daughter is of no use to her. She will most likely dispose of everyone that works for her, even her kids, and use your power to enslave all humans.”

“I can’t let that happen…”

“We won’t Jessie. Just go out on your date and we can talk more when you get home.”

Jessie P.O.V

David is taking me to Laser tag. Obviously hearing I’m a vampire didn’t really bother him much. He still likes me and I’m still his girlfriend. We meet at his work but instead of going in I stay out by his car and wait for him. When he comes out he looks beat. He has grease spilled all down the front of his shirt, his hair is a mess, his shoes are all dirty, and he smells like French fries.

“Jessie I’m so sorry. Do you mind if we put laser tag off for an hour or two. I need to get home and take a shower.”

“No, why would I mind. I can’t stand your smell either.” With an adjoined laugh we hop into his car and drive to his house. When we go through the door his parents are in the living room. He walks by them pulling me along and gets us right into his room.

“Ok, stay here until I get back. Please don’t leave the room. “

“I won’t. Don’t worry.”

“Alright, I’ll be back in a flash.”

When he leaves me in his room I examine it for the first time. He has two posters on the wall; one is a Avenged sevenfold poster and the other is of a 1998 White Corvette.  It’s kind of sad he has to fall asleep every night looking at that when all he drives is a rusty, beaten down, old Toyota.  On his dresser he has a few pictures, none of his family of course. Theirs one of him at the beach with his friends, and the other one is him winning employee of the month at the Burger Place.  Standing up I look farther back on his dresser to find a picture of him and I the first day I came to Cali.
