Chapter 9

When we arrived at Russia I went to help with the bags but dimitri gave me a look that told me to get in the car or else so when I ignored that look he threw me over his shoulder
"Dimitri put me down"
"No. You should listen to me"
"I don't have to anymore you read that letter" everyone was laughing
"Alberta tell him to put me down" I shouted
"I can't do that dear we are not at the academy so I have no control over what he does"
"Fine. Dimitri of you don't put me down I'll lock you up with a hungry stragoi"
All did was chuckle as we walked through the airport when I heard his voice
"Blake why is our sister over some guys shoulder"
"It seems as though our darling sister still doesn't listen to people"
He chuckled
"Your not supposed to laugh at me Jason you know I'll hurt you"
"Oh you will not. Come on let's go" he said and Dimitri carried me to the car and finally put me down so I got in the car next to Jason as he drove  to baia which would take us about three hours.

"I should warn you the people who were looking after maya died"
"What. How long ago"
"Last week"
"Why didn't anyone tell me. I'm the emergency contact"
"Yes and they tried but couldn't get through to you"
"Where is she"
"She's at Olena's she got there yesterday"
"Is she ok"
"She's just a little shaken up. But she'll be alright when she sees you"
"Who's maya" Alberta asked
"Rose's daughter" Blake said
"What" everyone else gasped
"She's not my biological daughter. Her mother was a friend of ours and in her will she wanted me to take care of her so the day I turn eighteen I get full custody of her"
"How old is she"
"Three" I smiled
"How long has it been since you saw her" dimitri asked
"A year and a half" I sighed

We were silent for the rest of the drive and when we got to the house kalina was outside and she saw the car pull up and then saw me get out and waddled over to me and hugged me
"What are you doing here"
"It's over"
"Really"
I nodded as Olena came out she saw dimitri and hugged him and they both cried but she then saw me and immediately grabbed me and hugged me hard and i cried.
"I'm so glad your alright"
"I'm far from alright Olena but in time I should be good"
"I know but before we get into this somebody wants to see you"

I nodded and was extremely nervous dimitri saw this and came over to comfort me but celeste got here first she held my hand as we walked into the house and saw everyone in the living room they gasped but didn't say anything. Paul was sat on the floor playing with Maya.
He looked up and smiled as I walked over to them
"Hi baby"
She looked up and squealed
"Mommy"
I smiled as she ran to me. I picked her up and hugged her as did she.
"I missed you"
"I missed you too monkey" I sat down with her still on my knee.

I watched as dimitri hugged all of his family and then he came to sit next to me as did celeste she had been reading the letter I got from the Queen.
"Mommy"
"Yes sweetheart"
"Are you going to leave me again"
I felt tears come to my eyes, I had always felt guilty about leaving her
"No sweetheart when I leave you coming with me"
"To see auntie lissa"
"Yes to see auntie lissa"
She smiled and I put her down to go and play. I walked outside and Sat on the stairs crying.
"What's wrong milaya"
He hadn't called me that I'm a while and I didn't know why he still was i have a daughter how could he still want to be with me.
"I've been so caught up in the mura that I have missed so much in her life I just don't want to miss any more"
"You don't have to" he said sitting next to me
"But I will eventually have to leave her dimitri. When we get back to the academy I'll have so much to do and I'll have to give her to the elementary campus and I don't want that to happen she's my daughter"
"I'll help you. I'm with you so I'll help you"
"I can't ask you to do that dimitri, we literally just got permission to be with each other and I can't ask you to help me with her"
"Well tough became one day I plan on marrying you so she'll be my daughter"
I looked at him shocked and he chuckled
"I've just got you milaya and I'm never giving you up"
He wiped the tears from my face and he kissed me.

We went back inside and maya saw that I had been crying and came to me
"Mama sad"
"No I'm not sad"
"Then why crying"
"It doesn't matter. Do you want to know something"
She nodded
I picked her up and carried her to dimitri
"This is dimitri he's mommy's friend"
"Mommy's special friend"
I knew who taught her that
"Vika stop teaching my daughter stuff"
I whispered In her ear
"Yes my special friend" she giggled.

I put her down and she went over to dimitri
"Hi mitri"
I chuckled at that
"Hi maya"  he picked her up and they Talked for awhile and I saw him happy for the first time in a long time he was happy. Maybe this was a good thing.
