Now six, Astrid has been on the run for two years hiding from the men with skulls who burned her house to a crisp, killing her mother. She was wandering through the alleyways of New York City, looking for items that she could sell. "Ooh, shiny!" Astrid thought as she dove into a dumpster to find the thing that caught her eye.

"Why have you dragged us all the way out here?" Natasha asked, annoyed.

"Ya why are we here?" Steve questioned.

"I may have accidentally thrown away Pepper's necklace and it most likely is here," Tony responded.

"Dude," said Clint, "you're a billion are. Just buy her a new one."

"I tried that," replied Tony. "The old one has a picture of her dead grandmother or something. It's really special to her so you guys are helping me find it." He reached into the dumpster and searched for the necklace. "I found it!" he screamed. Tony tightly grabbed it and pulled with all his might.

Astrid fought hard, wanting to keep the necklace so that she could sell it. Pulling, she forced Tony into the dumpster along side herself.

"AHHH!" screeched Tony as he went flying. A few moments later, both Astrid and Tony stuck their heads out of the piles of trash.

"Who are you young maiden?" Thor asked.

Fear plagued Astrid's ocean blue eyes. "They found me," she thought. Snatching the necklace, she dashed up the ladder behind her and made her way to the rooftops of New York City.

Natasha wasted no time following Astrid with lightning speed. The rest of the Avengers were not far behind her. "Stop," Natasha commanded. "We don't want to hurt you."

Obeying the stranger, Astrid stopped and turned to face the group. "Are you part of the skull and six arms?" she asked quietly.

"No," Natasha answered, glancing back at her friends.

"Are you S.H.I.E.L.D.?" Astrid questioned once again.

The Avengers nodded, slowly inching towards the small girl.

Her mother's last words flooded Astrid's mind. 'Trust S.H.I.E.L.D.' "Should I trust these people?" she asked herself.

"Are you ok?"Steve asked.

Black spots clouded Astrid's vision, causing her to lose conscious.

Sooo I saw Infinity War on Saturday and I hate Marvel. If you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about and if you haven't, I won't spoil it for you. Also shout out to my friend TwilightLuner for reminding me that I need to post my next chapter and I hope that she posts as well...
