"Who are you and why are you here?" questioned Fury.

All eyes turned to Astrid. "I'm Astrid Stella Burrows and I'm six years old. For the past two years, I have been looking for S.H.I.E.L.D." she responded, not making eye contact with anyone.

"Why have you been looking for S.H.I.E.L.D.?" asked Steve, voicing everyone's question.

"Mommy's last words were 'trust S.H.I.E.L.D.'" Astrid mumbled. "I also have a letter addressed to S.H.I.E.L.D." Reaching into her backpack, Astrid pulled out an envelope and handed it to Steve.

Steve opened the envelope and held out the letter for the Avengers and Fury to read. It read:

'S.H.I.E.L.D., if you are reading this letter that means that HYDRA has found us. I am Bella Lily Burrows an ex-HYDRA agent. Sitting in front of you is Astrid Stella Burrows, also known as Project CW-12. The daughter of Captain America and Black Widow created by HYDRA. A few months after she was created I kidnapped her, not wanting Astrid to be HYDRA's mindslave. If you don't believe me, that is fine. Just don't let HYDRA get their hands on her.

                                                               Sincerely,

                                                     Bella Lily Burrows'

The group sat in silence, processing what they just read. Steve and Natasha were in shock and re-read the note repeatedly.

Astrid was very confused about the situation going on in the room. She got up and read the letter. "Who are Captain America and Black Widow? And what's a HYDRA?" she asked.

"Why don't we go somewhere else more private to continue this conversation," Natasha said, gently taking Astrid's hand and left the room with Steve following behind them. The three entered an empty room.

"So," said Astrid. "Are you guys my parents?"

Natasha and Steve nodded in response.

Joy filled Astrid's eyes. "That means we will be a family!" she exclaimed. "Also what's a HYDRA?"

"They are an evil organization that want to basically take over the world," Natasha answered.

"Are they the people wearing a skull with arms that are after me?" Astrid asked.

Noticing that Astrid was afraid, Steve said, "Don't worry. We'll protect you."

"WOAH," gasped Astrid, gazing upon Avengers Tower.

The family of 3 went inside to an empty guest room on Steve and Natasha's floor. "This will be your room," said Steve. "Tomorrow, we will get things to decorate it.

"Will you tuck me in?" Astrid asked.

"Of course," smiled Natasha.
