Just an Ordinary Girl

Chapter 1

“Come on!  We’re going to be late again!”

 Adam shouted up to his best friend Devan, he was picking her up for school and as usual she was running late.

”Coming!”

  Devan yelled as she grabbed her bag and ran down the stairs,

 “okay, let’s go”

 she said as she reached her front door.

 “Bye guys, be safe!”

 Devan’s mom yelled from the other room .The pair got into Adam’s brand new red mustang he had gotten for his birthday it was practically his baby, and Devan knew she had to be extra careful.

Adam started the car and Devan immediately turned on the radio, One Direction began playing through the speakers and while neither of them was big fans Devan couldn’t resist singing and dancing when one of their songs came on the radio.

They arrived to school just in time and went to their classes like any other normal day.

Finally class was over and it was time for lunch, the one time of day they could socialize, have a break from class,  but their favorite part…food.

Adam and Devan walked into the crowded cafeteria and made their way through all the people to their usual table where their friends Courtney, Kyli, and Anna were already sitting.

“Hey!”  Kyli said as she saw her friends approaching

“What’s up?” Adam replied

“Well Steph is freaking out because she failed her Spanish test.” Courtney added

Devan looked at Steph who was just looking her paper and couldn’t help but giggle

“It’s not funny! My mom is going to kill me!” Steph squeaked

This was typical Stephanie freaking out over her grades, it had been like this forever when they were younger they would tell her stuff like “it’s okay” or “don’t worry” but now they all just laughed whenever Steph was freaking out.

A few minutes later Troy and Alex walked over and sat down, they took one look at Steph and just started laughing  and teasing her “ Is someone freaking out over grades again” Troy mocked “Come on Steph it can’t be that bad” Alex added

For the rest of the period they all made jokes about Steph and eventually even she was laughing.

The bell rang and all of them went to their lockers and headed for their next class.

Troy, Adam, Steph, and Devan all had chemistry together 5th period, none of them enjoyed the class but at least they got to sit at a table together.

They bell rings and they all take their seats, Stephanie takes out her pen that says “One Direction” down the side.

“Oh, that reminds me” Devan said looking at Steph

“Adam and I heard them on the radio this morning.” She finished awaiting Steph’s reaction

“What?!?” Steph squealed “ I love hearing them on the radio but I don’t want everyone else finding out about them, I ju-“

“Steph” Devan cut her off  Steph face showing her irritation “ take a deep breath” she said slightly laughing.

“And by the way Steph” Troy added “ I think everyone else already knows about them.”

“Yeah, I know but they were MY boys and now I have to share them with everybody” said Steph still looking annoyed.

“Oh stop” Devan said

“Yeah, you don’t even know them.” Adam added

The look Stephanie gave him was enough to make Troy, Devan, and even Adam burst out into fits of laughter.

Finally the school day was over and Devan met Adam at his car, instead of going straight home they went to the shops to look for a present. Stephanie’s birthday was only a few days away and neither of them had gotten her a gift.

They both knew they wanted to get her something One Direction related, especially because she shared a birthday with One Directions very own Niall Horan, but they just didn’t know what yet.

“Perfect!” Adam exclaimed as he picked up the calendar with 1D plastered all over it.

Devan wasn’t as lucky and ended up going home empty handed once again

As soon as Devan walked through her front door she could smell the food her mom was cooking.

“Smells great” she said as she walked into the kitchen where her mom was standing.

“Oh great, just in time to set the table.”  Her mom said smiling as she handed her a stack of plates

Devan was the youngest of her family, she had two older brothers but they were both away at school, so it was just Devan and her parents.

“ So, how was your day? You seem a bit down” Mr.Miller said to his daughter

“Oh, it’s nothing it’s just that Steph’s birthday is in a few days and I still haven’t gotten her a present.” She said with a sad look on her face.

“Why don’t you get her something with One Direction?” Her mom said cheerfully.

“Well that’s the thing she either has it, or someone else bought it for her already.” Devan responded 

“Oh, I have an idea!” said Devan’s dad  “Don’t they have a concert at Madison Square Garden?” he asked

“Yeah, but what am I suppose to do? I don’t have that kind of money” Devan said

“Well” Mr.Miller started  “ I have a friend who works there, I can call him later and see if he can get you guys tickets if you want” he finished

“ OH MY GOD DAD! THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!” Devan shouted while she jumped up to hug her father

“calm down, calm down” her dad chuckled as his daughter was releasing her grip “I’m not making any promises, but I will try my best, and will let you know tomorrow.” Her dad finish

So I know this chapter kinda sucks, but please keep reading it gets better! :)
