Savannah Pov:

A week in this place would have been the end of me if Katelyn's life was not on the line. Even now at three weeks my ever-present annoyance for these power hungry adults was beginning to chafe on me. I almost felt pity for Mïka who let them walk right over him. Just this morning I had stood up for him twice when even Rin wouldn't do such a thing.

The translator implanted into my ear this morning was likely the last straw. I had allowed for them to put a bracelet that put a minor dampener on my powers, but not even my simple ability to communicate telepathically with my siblings had been tampered with. The others didn't fare as well with the power cancelling Kūbatsîz bracelet.

"Why do they get good food." Clark's voice drew my attention away from my mental rant as he spoke from across the table. He was staring longingly at the fine dining at the head table while his half-eaten pile of brown sludge remained in front of him. The way it appeared on his plate reminded me greatly of feces. Not even Budgie was inclined to eat this substance. My dog huffed as if in agreement to my current train of thoughts.

"You brought popping corn back when you went to collect food right?" I asked my brothers who instantly seemed to brighten up. They recognized when I was planning something. Mïka gave me a concerned face filled with suspicion while Rin provided me with an undisguised glare.

"Yes, we did! What are you thinking of doing?" Bear asked while pulling the brown paper bag from his backpack. Now even Mïka and Katelyn's father seemed intrigued as he cradled my sister in one arm and his food in the other. Rin continued to scowl, but her untouched plate of sludge spoke volumes.

"Well, theoretically, using my power of air I could channel hot air around this bag to pop the precious, puffed food," I replied while taking the bag and inflating the inside so that it had room to pop.

"Too bad Katelyn is not here right now, her ability to create fire would be useful." Clark sighed while pushing the unappetizing plate away from his face.

"That's where the food comes in handy." I countered while pulling his plate over and dumping the contents onto my own plate. The others watched in disgust as they clearly expected me to eat it all.

"So got our attention just so you can steal your brothers food." Rin accused while jabbing a utensil in my direction. She pulled her plate closer towards herself as she glared at me. Mïka seemed wary, but he appeared intrigued by my proposition. I clicked my tongue in a mocking gesture towards Rin.

"This poop like matter must be good for something." I snorted while pulling the pack of emergency matches out of Cara's backpack. I went to light the match when Mïka squeaked in horror.

"You have the Kūbatsîz bracelet on how will you channel air let alone control a fire?" Mïka squealed his voice containing a concerned undertone.

"Watch me!" I dared him. Our eyes making contact as I struck the match. The flame caught the attention of many people from adults to tiny children. They watched as I brought it down towards the mush on my plate. It lit without any trouble and created quite a fascinating green flame. I telekinetically lifted the bag above the flames and began to channel the flame. The first sounds of dried pop Corning exploding were music to our ears. It didn't take long for the other to begin fuelling the fire with their brown paste.

Budgie crawled up onto the bench at the smell of food while many around us watched in astonishment. We had the head tables attention. The ran forward only to run headlong into my force field. Outrageous laughter filled the room as the council members were thrown backwards. They had yet to earn my favour in these three weeks. Guards began entering the room to investigate the commotion as the last kernel popped. I extinguished the fire and grabbed the warm paper bag into my hands in time for the armed guards to storm over. They seemed confused by the burnt and melted liquid substance oozing off the table.

My forcefield came down and the council members came rushing over to the table. Their eyes blazed in anger. Particularly, mister head council member Aspen who thought of himself as a god to us humans.

"Don't just stand there! Grab this misfit group, they need to be taught a serious lesson." Mister Aspen commanded as he pointed at us. I opened the bag and telekinetically passed a couple pieces of popcorn to the others. A piece of popcorn floated to my mouth as I stared at this ignorant excuse for a leader. The crunch of my teeth grinding up the popcorn echoed in the silence that ensued from the crowd.

"How does she have her powers activated?" Mister Aspens second in command Lakey asked while I allowed for the guards to detain me. The council leader grabbed my arm and exposed my wrist. The Kūbatsîz bracelet was sporting a large green flashing light indicating that it was fully functioning. Guards checked each of my friends' bracelets each coming up with the same results. Mister Aspen reached for my popcorn which I moved out of his reach.

"Detain this one under special security." He growled when I spread the bag of popcorn to those surrounding us. They crunched the food eagerly as they watched the scene unfold.

"She needs to be tested!" Camille cried out to her colleagues. She was perhaps the only council member that I could respect and appreciate.

"I agree with her on this," I replied while indicating towards her. I felt one of the guards grabbing my hair and pulling my head to the side. I felt a prick on my neck and the second guard backed away. I began to fight the arms holding me and I could tell that I was winning. That was until things began to grow distorted.

"We have an elemental bonded group here!" The head doctors voice made my head pound as I fully collapsed into the guard's arms. I am such a fool.

 I am such a fool
