Chapter 37

As Kakashi Sensei predicted, Naruto and Sakura asked about Qui and whether or not she was a power vessel of some kind. He successfully delayed answering their questions, in hopes of keeping Qui a secret. 

Eventually, the two backed off and followed him as he led the mission to the hideout. According to some rescue teams, they had been staking out around the entrance of the cave and had been waiting for the suspicious kidnappers to come out. It had been almost thirty-two hours since the rescue teams had arrived, still waiting for the kidnappers. 

"Let's go. We're going to break this thing down," Kakashi Sensei ordered. 

"Go!" 

Bombs which had strategically placed around the entrance exploded, allowing them to enter the hideout. Yet before they could, however, a voice rang out from the cave. 

"Found you." 

Instantly they were faced with two Akatsuki members, Deidara whom they had recently fought, and Zetsu who had a questionable form, suspiciously non-human. 

"Again!?" Naruto exclaimed. "Where did you guys hide her?!"

"Gonna ha'fta be more specific, un!" the man Deidara said smugly. "To be honest, though I actually have no idea who or what you're talking about, un!" 

"Don't lie!" 

"Oho? I didn't lie, but I don't ha'fta convince you either, un!" Deidara snapped back all too cheerful. "But enough, I want to capture you and finish our battle!"

"This is the kid you lost to? For real?" Zetsu asked in disbelief, staring at the Konoha ninjas. 

"Shut it, un! I was just getting started, un!" 

"So you say...you still lost to a child of all things," Zetsu complained but made no effort to stop him.

"Want a repeat then? I'm sure you'll do just great when we destroy your hands for good!" Naruto scowled, letting anger course through him.

"Naruto! Focus!" Kakashi Sensei snapped. Unhappily, the boy backed off, but the pointy teeth weren't showing any signs of becoming more prominent. "I'll send you back if you lose control." 

"Ready, un? Well, ready or not, here you go! C4 katsu, un!" And the battle went underway. 

Captain Yamato, Naruto, and Kakashi Sensei faced Deidara and Zetsu, while Sai and Sakura went to look for Qui. 

"Look down that hallway, I'll search over here!" 

"Alright!"

However, Qui had already been taken from the hideout, via through a special back door that disappeared without a trace. Sai and Sakura scoured the entire hideout and were almost done when the ground began to rumble. Sai's ink mice quickly alerted them that the hideout was going to cave in. 

"Let's get out of here!" 

"Right!" 

End result? 

Sai and Sakura were stuck inside the hideout, thankfully mostly unharmed, and the two Akatsuki members had left as well, as their plan was to delay them from finding Qui. 

"At least we can confirm the Akatsuki has Kurisani-kun," Captain Yamato said as they faced their new mission: getting Sai and Sakura out of the hideout. 

"I'll get them next time!" Naruto promised angrily, upset he wasn't allowed to chase after the two Akatsuki members. 

"Great. Now move it. We need to save those two before they lose oxygen," Kakashi Sensei said, moving over to the entrance of the hideout. "Yamato?" 

"Right." 

With Sakura's massive power punches, Naruto's Rasengan, and Captain Yamato's support beams of wood, Team Seven were able to reunite and return to Konoha with new information. 

Unfortunately, Team Seven had to return without one of their two missing teammates. Kakashi Sensei reported the mission, and they were dismissed. 

"Kakashi Sensei?"

Said sensei sighed, looking at Sakura and Naruto standing questioningly in front of him. "You really want to know why Qui is so important, right?"

"She's a tail beast vessel like me and Gaara, right?" Naruto asked eagerly. "Can she control her it? Which one is it?"

"Woah, hold on," Kakashi Sensei quickly cut in. "Qui's not a jinchuriki, Naruto." 

"Huh?" Naruto was taken back. "But I thought she was a vessel of a tail beast!"

"Hang on, let's start from the beginning, okay? I'll explain a couple of things to you guys." Kakashi Sensei looked at them both carefully before slouching and shoving his hands in his pockets. 

"Alright, where to start. Well, let's see...what clan do you guys think Qui's mom Noriaki-san is from?"

Neither student could answer. They looked at him expectantly. 

Kakashi Sensei sighed and looked at them in the eye,  knowing once he said this, he wouldn't be able to go back. "Noriaki-san is from the Uchiha Clan."
