"I've got muscle, hooray," the boy said wearily, smiling faintly at Qui. "It's your turn. They said you could go right on in."

Each applicant of this training program was weighted and measured every week to see progress. Some lost weight, others gained weight. By keeping a record of each applicant's progress, the trainers could figure out individual schedules for each person. Despite the exhausting work they all underwent, Qui could definitely feel muscle building up.

However, her Chakra system was still really out of whack. Just six weeks ago, she had to stop participating in any ninjutsu classes and workouts because her system was severely off balance. She needed surgery or else risk damaging everything.

If Qui could, she would choose to avoid surgery. However, that decision wasn't up to her. When she sneaked a peek at her own medical profile, she saw the stamp of certification for surgery in three weeks. Konoha really wanted her, since once she gained control of herself properly, she would become a perfect weapon. If she refused to go, she would be forced to go. No matter what.

"Okay, thanks."

The boy tiredly left, intending to recover from the week's intense training.

"Kurisani-kun!"

Qui looked up in surprise to see her ex-Uncle Kabuto waving to her, clearly in disguise. She ambled over tiredly, the training camp has already done its wonders. The other trainers and doctors were already crowding around her, ready to take measurements. After a good twenty minutes standing awkwardly with her shoes off, the doctors left, leaving Qui with just Kabuto and one trainer who would presumably check her eyes.

"What's up, Sensei?" Qui asked casually.

"Uncle Igo wants to see you."

Qui leaned over to one side exaggeratedly. "And I'm supposed to believe you how...?" Kabuto jerked his thumb at the second trainer.

"Because I'm here!" Uncle Igo exclaimed. Having seen her uncle's face before, she knew he was in disguise as well. On top of that, he covered his eyes with a bandana, making him even more unrecognizable.

"Uncle!" Qui didn't hesitate to throw herself at him, grinning in joy as he pulled her into a warm embrace.

"So! Remember the letter I sent a whole bunch of weeks ago?"

"The last one?"

"Yeah! Let's see...what did I say again?"

"You said something about wanting to help me fulfill my dream and get me out of Konoha's doom plan," Qui supplied.

Uncle Igo snapped his fingers in recognition. "That's right! You remember, great job!"

"Is whatever plan you have happening right now?" Qui asked eagerly. The sooner this plan happened, the less fighting she would have to do. Maybe she could even skip the ninja level requirements before applying for the historian position!

"Yes! But there are a few conditions and I need you to hear me out before saying yes or no, okay?" Uncle Igo warned seriously. For possibly comedic effect, Uncle Igo paused, letting the silence between them linger for a long time.

"Are you done?" Kabuto asked bluntly, cutting in.

"Shush! We're talking through telepathy!" Uncle Igo scolded, while Qui smothered her laughter in his shoulder. "We can communicate through other means that you cannot understand!"

"Oh sure," Kabuto drawled. "Get on with it already."

"Make sure nobody can hear us," Uncle Igo shot back. "You ready?"

"Hit me with it," Qui said eagerly. Anything to get out of this whole ninja-lifestyle.

"Right!" Uncle Igo jumped straight into his big how-to-get-Qui-out-of-the-Konoha-ninja-system plan. Qui didn't like certain conditions her uncle had set, but after hearing that the final result would benefit her so much more instead of sticking with Konoha, Qui figured she would be more willing to join Uncle Igo's grand scheme than become Konoha's weapon.

"So? Do you accept?"

"Yeah. I don't want to do...all this anymore. I don't wanna fight. It's annoying and tiring," Qui said, sagging her shoulders.

"I knew you'd like my plan! Don't you worry! I'll make sure you never have to follow Konoha's stupid doom plan of transformation for you!"

Qui cracked a smile. "Thanks, Uncle."

"Well then! Without further ado, let's get going then!"

Qui followed Uncle Igo into the forest, Kabuto lingering behind to cover their tracks. He didn't stay too long and followed the duo out of the training program area. Once out of visible, metaphorical hot water, Uncle Igo and Kabuto took Qui to a special hideout and waited for the other party to show up.

Uncle Igo had made a deal with the group Akatsuki and asked Qui if she minded being an exchanging piece. He promised they would take care of her and even help her get the surgery she needed to even out certain points of the twisted Chakra system throughout her body. Qui had agreed, so now, they were waiting for the Akatsuki to show up and take her.

"Is this the girl?" a man wearing a black and red cloak asked, stepping from the trees. He had orange hair and multiple piercings. A woman with distinct purple hair stood beside him quietly.

"Hi." Qui waved.

Uncle Igo gave her a gentle push forward. "That's Tobi. You're gonna be under his care for a while."

"Can you check?" the first man asked.

"It's her," a third Akatsuki member confirmed. He wore an orange swirly mask leaving one eye to see from. "She definitely needs surgery."

"Then we have an agreement then," Uncle Igo said, walking Qui over. He stayed back far enough, letting the girl move forward. The orange masked ninja reached out to rest his hand on her shoulder, pulling her closer.

"Perfect. She will do," Tobi said, sounding pleased. The other two Akatsuki members remained silent and turned away. Kabuto had already vanished. Uncle Igo gave a double thumbs up at the girl before leaving Qui with the third Akatsuki member.

"Hi, Tobi-san."

"Let's go. You'll be with us from now on. Igo made a good choice."

"Swell."
