I found Ty in the kitchen, talking to some of our other friends and drinking. I grabbed a beer and joined them. "Jenny! I haven't seen you much tonight. Where have you been?" our friend Noel asked. "I've been around, just with Stacy and stuff." I lied, not knowing if Ty was alright with me blabbing about our 7 minutes in heaven experience. "Well we were talking about getting a game of beer pong going, if you're down." she said. "Uh, yeah, sure." I agreed. We cleared off a table out back, and set up the plastic cups, filling each of them. We separated into teams of 5. Ty and I were on one team, with our friends Stephen, Crystal and John. The other team was Noel, Colton, Hailey, Heather and Dalton. We took turns throwing the balls into the cups, the problem was we were equally good at it. Both teams had racked up 8 points, and there were only 10 cups on each side. Ty was up, going against Hailey. Admittedly, the game wasn't that fun because none of us were drunk except for the ones that had been drinking beforehand, but it was still intense. Getting a ping pong ball to hand in cups is hard enough sober. Ty held the ball in his hand, focusing on the cup he was aiming for. He squinted, his tongue slightly sticking out. He looked silly, but even then he was the cutest thing I had ever seen. His minutes of concentrating leading to a sudden throw. The ball landed in one of the 2 remaining cups, a grin scraping across his face. "Drink, dick." he said, a devious kind of joy in his voice. Hailey's brows furrowed, she picked up the cup and chugged the beer angrily. She then stepped aside for Noel to take her place. Ty moved away from the table, I smiled at him. "Your turn, Jenny." Crystal said, nudging me. I stepped up to the table. I got to go first, since Ty nailed it last round. I was nervous, not like losing beer pong would affect me the rest of my life, but I didn't want to let my team down when we were so close to winning. I picked up a ball, grasping it tightly. I debated the technique I should use. Overhand? Underhand? What works better? I tried different stances, aiming my arm to see what was the most comfortable. Maybe I was overanalyzing it, but I felt like there was a lot riding on this. I felt two hands on my hips, and breath near my ear. "It's just beer pong, Jenny. Don't overthink it." he said lowly. My cheeks flushed, I didn't know how he felt about being affectionate in front of other people. "But you might wanna try overhand." he whispered before pulling away. I took a deep breath, adjusted my stance, and threw the ball. My eyes followed the ball, right into the last remaining cup. "Oh my god, oh my god! I did it! I did it!!!" I cheered. My team hollered, stoked that they won the game. "CHOKE ON A DICK!!" Stephen yelled to the other team. Ty picked me up and spun me around, I clung to him, my arms around his shoulders. I felt his lips collide against mine, leaving me shocked but elated. Apparently, it left everybody else shocked too. In the time Ty was spinning me around, Noel was drinking the last cup, and the moment she saw our lips meet she spit the beer all over the table. Everyone else around to witness it was equally shocked. "What the fuck? Are you guys a thing?" Noel asked. I looked at Ty, unsure what to say, as there wasn't a label on us yet. He looked back at me, before looking at Noel. "She's kinda sorta my girlfriend." he replied. My heart felt like it was going to explode with happiness. I was Ty's girlfriend, after years of liking him, I finally gained that label. "Awwww what a cute couple!" Colton exclaimed. "Yo, why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" John said, elbowing him. Everyone was asking us a billion questions, neither of us could bother to answer because we were so focused on each other. "I'm kind of tired, do you wanna head back inside?" he asked. I nodded. "Dope ass game of beer pong, but I think we're gonna hang inside for a while now." Ty told the group of us outside. He took my hand, and we walked back in the house.
