Chapter 1
When I was a little girl, I wore glasses, had braces, acted like a total tomboy, and was nice to everyone I met. So, of course, that made me the biggest target in school for the popular kids. I was crowned the Queen of the Nerds by Talia Thompson in fourth grade. Talia was the most popular girl in school and she would pick on me every single day. Most days after school I would return home crying. Talia made the few friends I had turn against me. Everyone chose her over me. I had no one. I was a complete loser.
I had to deal with all of that through all of middle school too where Talia only got worse. I still couldn't make any friends. Everyone stayed away from me like I had some deadly disease. I never could understand why Talia had any friends or why she was the most popular girl in school. She was mean to everyone so why were people friends with her? Why'd everyone do exactly as Talia told them to? I figured out why. It was because if anyone stood up to Talia or did something she didn't like, she could completely humiliate them in front of the entire school. She was a natural at making others feel bad about themselves. She could also find out everyone's secrets and use them against people.
I hated Talia. She made me feel unwanted and useless. She made me feel pathetic and ugly. She made me feel ashamed of my glasses and clothes and my entire personality. So I finally decided to do something about it.
My parents were rich. I mean they were completely loaded. Plus I was an only child and my parents were hardly ever home, always leaving me with the nanny, Susannah. So I could basically buy whatever I wanted. I had Susannah take me shopping the week before my freshman year of high school started. We threw out every single piece of clothing that I had previously owned and bought me a whole new wardrobe. I now had the kind of wardrobe you'd actually expect a rich girl to have. I only owned expensive, designer clothes that even Talia would kill for. I went to a salon to transform my bird's nest into beautiful, blonde locks. My braces were finally removed, resulting in a gorgeous, white smile. I trained myself for months to change from a tomboy into a one hundred percent girly girl. I completely transformed myself.
Oh, and one more thing. I got contacts.
After my complete makeover for freshman year, I quickly pushed my way to the top of the social ladder and had claimed Talia's queen bee place for myself by the middle of sophomore year. Now everyone loved me. Everyone in the school wanted to be my friend. No one made fun of me. I owned the school now. Not Talia.
