Chapter 4
"Hey, Sienna, want to go grab us some Starbucks?" Susannah hollered to me from the kitchen.
I groaned, remembering who the cashier at Starbucks was. I just hoped he wasn't working today. I've had enough of his crap today.
"Sure, Susannah! Want your usual?" I shouted to her.
"Yes, please! Thank you, sweet pea!"
I grabbed my purse and keys then headed out. I took my time driving to Starbucks, in no hurry.
I groaned when I got in there and there was a mile long line. But I was relieved when I saw the cashier was some red haired girl. At least I didn't have to deal with Archer.
"Boo!" a voice from behind me made me jump a foot in the air.
I shrieked and spun around to see Archer doubled over laughing.
I scowled at him, but he didn't care.
Still laughing, he said, "You screamed like a little girl! And you jumped so high. That was great."
"You almost gave me a heart attack, you idiot!" I whined.
He finally calmed down, "That was the point."
I noticed that Archer had a dishrag slung over his shoulder. I guessed he was cleaning tables instead of working the cash register today.
I rolled my eyes and turned away from him, "Go away, Woods."
"Yes, ma'am," he mock saluted me then returned to cleaning tables.
I stood in line for ten minutes before I finally got to order then I had to wait another five minutes to actually get my order. By the time I left, I was ready to punch someone.
On my way out, Archer winked at me and said, "Have a nice day, ma'am."
I glared at him then made my way to my car. When I got home, Susannah had just finished cooking dinner.
"Hey. Sorry I took so long. The line was really long," I apologized to Susannah.
"That's alright. Go get ready for dinner then hurry back down," Susannah told me.
I scurried upstairs, into the bathroom, and removed my contacts. It felt good to have them out and wear my glasses again. I changed out of my skirt and heels, and put on sweatpants and a hoodie. After I threw my hair up into a messy bun, I bounced down the stairs.
"Miss Sienna!" I heard Susannah call me from the kitchen.
Miss Sienna? Susannah only calls me Miss Sienna when my parents are around...
I rushed into the kitchen and saw Susannah holding the phone. She smiled at me and I couldn't help but grin back. I skipped over to the phone and took it from Susannah.
Smiling brightly, I answered, "Hello?"
"Hey, sweetheart!" my parents said excitedly.
"Hi, Mommy. Hi, Daddy. I miss you guys so much," I said to them.
"We miss you too, princess," Dad said.
"We'll be home before you know it, sweetheart," Mom said.
I talked to my parents for only ten minutes before they had to get back to work stuff.
After I'd hung up the phone, Susannah said, "Dinner is ready, Sienna."
"Can I eat dinner in the living room today?" I asked her.
