The car ride was filled with blaring Iggy Azalea songs and letting the wind wipe our hair.
Lenox's sister was a college student who understood the new technology age our generation was experiencing.
It was funny enough that she was enjoying Lenox and I's playlist, but also that she was using her phone and driving at the same time.
Gotta love the Andersons!
After what seemed like we had lived through the dinosaur ages, we pulled up to the party scene.
It was at this random venue with security guards at the door.
Ladies were free. Isn't it great to be a girl? Not.
Ascending the stares was awkward with all the guys staring at our legs that were exposed. Luckily our skirts weren't short so there was no flashing or sneaky peeks attempted by the guys.
It took an hour for enough people to show up to call the get-together a party and even then there weren't enough girls to balance the ratio of guys to girls.
Reluctantly I followed Lenox out the door. The party just wasn't our scene.
We resorted to going to the 7eleven across the street and walking towards Downtown.
Sipping my cold coke and handing Lenox her sprite we quickly crossed the street.
"Goddamn Angel. Are you trying to get hit by a car?"
Without replying I just began to spurter out my coke and laugh hysterically at her reaction to my "chicken" moment. I tended to look both ways before I crossed the street but not pay attention while I'm crossing the street.
Resulting in a near death experience.
We managed to make it Downtown without anymore incidents and no run in with creepers.
Downtown was much more alive with lights and people our age strolling the sidewalks that lined the outside of the restaurants and shops.
We made our way towards the movie theater.
"Do you want to see a movie?" I asked aloud. It was more of an idea than an actual question.
"Sure." It was all I got as we were hit with the icy air conditioning as we entered through a pair of glass doors.
After peering up at the timetables we just decided to use the bathroom and continue to walk around Downtown instead.
Our bathroom break was filled with more giggles erupting from my throat as Lenox complained about germs.
Once we had descended the stairs, I asked about Eileen.
"Is she coming?"
"I just texted her to tell her to meet us here in front of the movie theater instead."
"Coolio!"
I smiled at Lenox who rolled her eyes comically as Eileen's dad's car pulled up. She stepped out in a similar outfit to ours. Unlike me or Lenox, her skirt was printed and her tank a solid dull red color.
We all hugged and began to indulge in my Sour Patch.
"Eileen, how's Milo, if you know what I mean." Asked Lenox wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
"Shut up Lenox."
I burst out laughing, but was stopped when they both looked at me and gave me the, you-know-who-we-are-thinking-about-now face.
I rolled my eyes and stated,"If you guys are going to bring Victor up just know that we're semi-friends. It's difficult with the break up and all..."
"Mhmm..." They replied not convinced, but dropped the subject. We all knew Lenox did not want us to bring up her long time crush, so we smiled at each other and avoided eye contact with Lenox.
We continued to tease each other as we circled the inner perimeter of Downtown. However, we passed a group of guys earlier and were about to pass them again when one of them spoke to us.
Unknownly we kept walking until I specifically was stopped and acknowledged.
"You're so pretty! What are you three doing here alone at this time of night?"
Looking at my phone I realized it was 12:15am. He had a point...
"I don't know, we just came to hang out and are bored so we're walking around." I replied firmly to not seem distraught about the confrontation.
"Care to join us?" I looked him up and down. He was taller than me. The glint in his eyes spelled out danger and mischief, but his amber eyes made it hard to resist getting lost. Snapping out of my "checking out" haze I realized he was smirking.
Instead of frowning, I smirked back and looked back at my friends' curious faces before replying,"I most definitely would."
Adding a little sway to my hips, I made my way over to where he stood with my friends close behind.
