A little boy named Peter sat on his little chair and looked at the roofs of the neighboorhood's houses, like every year on the 24th december. When his olders siblings asked him, why he is doing this, he always said: "I am waiting for the Christkind."

After that his siblings always said: "There is no Christkind, you are waiting for nothing."

Nevertheless little Peter did not want to hear that und and put his hands over his ears, like every year.

Even his parents had tried to put him off doing it, but they could not convince him. After that little Peter ran to his gradfather, who took him in his arms and said: "When you believe in the Christkind, then it will be there.

For that reason little Peter sat every in his little chair in front of the window, wainting for the Christkind, but he never saw it. On the 25th december he was always tired and nobody could comfort him exept his loved gradfather. Who always said: "Next year you will see it, I believe it."

This year the little boy did not sit on his little chiar in front of the window, because he lied in his bed in his room. There was a little window, throughout the window he could saw the roofs of the buildings.

While he was waiting he saw a chimney sweep in the neighboorhood's roof. He was pretty black, maybe he certainly cleaned many chimneys.

Like under a spell, little Peter stared at the man, who stood on the roof. He hardly saw him between the larg chimneys, he stood there like a tin soldier.

When the sun rised up he still stood there and little Peter lied with open eyes in his bed in his sleeping room.

Suddenly there was a shirt flash in the dark sky and a little spark fell on the earth.

Little Peter jumped up from his bed. He followed the spark with his eyes. But he lost the spark in the sea of chimneys.

Peter, who was sure that this has to be the Christkind, run of the street and climbed on the fire escape of the neighboorhood's house.

As he was in the roof he saw a little spark, wich was not longer tiny because it began to grow and was soon bigger than the little boy.

"What are you doing here, my little friend?", asked a deep voice behind him. The boy saw the  chimney sweep, who he watched when he turned around.

"Is that the Christkind?", asked the little box the sweep.

"Yes, my little friend. You waited very long for the Christkind, did not you?"

"Since I heard about the Christkind.", said the little boy very proud.

"Come and take a look.", said the sweep and gave him his hand. Little Peter took it and both walked to the peacefull light
